Fire breaks out at block of flats
Four fire engines have been called to a block of flats in Cornwall. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the blaze in Penzance at about 15:09 BST. It said the flats were "well alight" and fire engines from Penzance, St Just and St Ives attended the scene. More than 70 firefighters battle Boscastle blaze
More than 70 firefighters were called to fight a fire in a home in Boscastle on Saturday.A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the team had received multiple calls at 12:42 GMT reporting the fire in Fore six fire engines were sent to the blaze that the spokesperson said had started in the ground floor and "spread quickly" to the said crews from Bodmin, Bude, Delabole, Liskeard, Lostwithiel, Padstow, Perranporth and St Austell fire stations fought the fire and were supported by the South Western Ambulance Service and Devon and Cornwall Police. The fire service confirmed it had been put out by 09:45 BST on spokesperson said an investigation had been carried out but no further information would be shared.

Van fire closes stretch of A30 in Cornwall
A stretch of the A30 in Cornwall was closed in both directions after a van caught fire on Tuesday evening near Lanivet. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said two crews from Bodmin attended the scene on the eastbound carriageway of road between Innis Downs and Carminnow Cross about 19:40 GMT. The road was shut in both directions while firefighters and police dealt with the incident. The inside lane of the eastbound carriageway remains closed and National Highways said resurfacing would need to take place.

Huge 1,000m wide moor fire burns in Cornwall
A large fire with a front of more than 1km (0.62 miles) on Cornish moorland is being tackled by firefighters. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said it received reports of the incident on Rosenannon Downs near St Columb just after 19:30 GMT on Thursday with seven engines and four Land Rovers dispatched to the scene. A fire service spokesperson said: "The fire has a front of over 1,000m and is being managed by the fire service. The fire is being allowed to burn to natural breaks." Flames from the fire were spotted for miles around with people posting about the incident on social media in surrounding areas including Newquay, St Columb and Wadebridge. Lizard Peninsula gorse fire 'suspected arson attack'
A seven-hectare gorse fire in Cornwall was believed to be an arson attack, firefighters have crews from St Keverne and Mullion were mobilised to an area of high gorse on fire in the Main Dale area of St Keverne, on the Lizard, at 20:36 GMT on Wednesday. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said the details of the suspected arson had been passed to crews have tackled three other gorse fire incidents nearby since the start of 2025, on 20 January, 12 February and 3 March.
