WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating after surveillance video captured a person breaking into a local business.
Man allegedly jumps off Bayway after crashing into bridge
According to Fruitdale Corner Store owner Cory Tate, the masked person broke through the front door of the business with a brick, shattering it.
Tate said the person stayed inside the store for roughly three minutes, but did not get away with much.
'There wasn't much there to be taken other than the employee and people in the community losing their peace of mind,' Tate said.
Deputies said they were called to the store around 3:45 a.m.
Tate is asking anyone who may live in the area of Highway 45 and County Road 1 to check their cameras and submit anything suspicious they find to deputies.

'Washington County is a quiet place that we'd like to keep that way to protect our way of life and to enjoy the things we get to enjoy up here with our local stores that are very important to our communities,' said Tate.
