Sam Thompson has shed light on the future of his reality TV career Sam Thompson has revealed details about the future of his reality TV career, and supporters might not be pleased with his admission. ‌ The 33-year-old is well-acquainted with fame, having appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. ITV audiences will also know Sam as the 2023 champion of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! ‌ Despite staying in the public eye following his time in the Australian jungle, Sam is not convinced he'll ever make a comeback to reality television, reports OK! ‌ Speaking exclusively to the Mirror's Screen Time team, he divulged: "I said to myself after I did the jungle, I said 'You've gotta leave it there.' Any sort of reality TV participation I'd leave there I think. Because you can't beat that." The London native continued: "So now it's just [about finding] a lane that you want to do well into your forties." ‌ Sam discussed his professional path during M&M'S recent Couch Confessions pop-up in Battersea, organised to celebrate Brits' viewing habits. The ITV star also explained that I'm A Celeb matches exactly what viewers see on screen. "You sit around that campsite for four don't speak to producers or anything like that, it's literally just you and the people that you're with," Sam explained, noting: "That's why it's so beautiful." He currently co-hosts the award-winning Staying Relevant Podcast alongside Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks. The pair also jointly own entertainment company Staying Relevant Productions. ‌ Prior to the pop-up, Sam and former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt revealed their television viewing preferences. Sam explained: "I'm all about turning TV nights into a proper event with bean bags, onesies, volume up and a stash of snacks. ‌ "It's my favourite time to just hang out with mates, even if it takes us an hour to agree on what to watch and someone always falls asleep halfway through." Meanwhile, Scarlett said: "TV nights at home are my love language, chaotic, full of theme-tune singalongs and subtitle debates. "But hunkering down on the couch with Scott (Dobinson) and Jude is what makes it so special. "I love the little quirks that turn ordinary nights into unforgettable family moments, because watching together is always more fun, even if Jude is the remote-control-king nowadays."

The 20 most irritating habits that make you the worst TV companion A new study of 2,000 Brits has found the top 20 most annoying habits for people to have while watching TV If you've ever found yourself at your wit's end as someone chats away to you or hogs the remote while you're watching TV, you're definitely not the only one. A study of 2,000 British adults has revealed the country's most irritating TV viewing behaviours. ‌ These included people who ask constant questions throughout a show, perpetually flicking between channels, and accidentally revealing crucial plot twists. A quarter of adults acknowledged they're dreadful viewing partners, owning up to continuously bombarding others with questions during programmes. For nearly half, asking its mainly about understanding what is happening but 31 per cent confessed they simply weren't concentrating on what was happening. Despite these annoying habits, watching television together continues to be a strong way of bonding. ‌ A third (33 per cent) of those polled said an evening in front of the telly with mates is just as enjoyable as doing an activity together. To honour these peculiar habits, MandM'S launched a "Couch Confessions" pop-up experience in London, featuring telly-obsessed celebrities Sam Thompson and Scarlett Moffatt. Reality TV favourite Scarlett Moffatt revealed: "TV nights at home are my love language, chaotic, full of theme-tune singalongs and subtitle debates." She continued: "But hunkering down on the couch with Scott and Jude is what makes it so special. "I love the little quirks that turn ordinary nights into unforgettable family moments, because watching together is always more fun, even if Jude is the remote-control-king nowadays." The study also revealed what Britons believe would enhance their television-viewing experiences. ‌ A fifth (20 per cent) expressed a desire for snack bowls that perfectly distribute portions amongst viewers, whilst 19 per cent fantasised about a family-sized footstool allowing everyone to elevate their feet. Meanwhile, 15 per cent wished there was a device that automatically set the television to the 'perfect' volume. Guests at the M&M'S pop-up encountered some of these innovations directly, alongside treasure hunts for TV treats. The experience also celebrated the nation's preferred methods of communal television viewing, featuring themed spaces modelled on the contemporary British lounge. Regarding ideal TV viewing partners, Britons would most relish settling in with David Attenborough, Ant and Dec, and Olivia Colman. Advertisement The research also revealed what TV viewers would like to make watching telly collectively better – with 20 per cent opting for snack bowls that perfectly divide portions between people. And 19 per cent would like a family-sized footstool, so everyone could put their feet up, and 15 per cent long for a device that sets the TV at the 'perfect' volume. Guests of the pop-up were lucky enough to get their hands on some of these solves, alongside scavenger hunts for TV snacks and content moments galore. The study also found 26 per cent of people who watch with others admitted they frequently try and guess at plot twists before they happen. Advertisement While the same amount wind up other viewers by stopping to rewind a show, to catch some missed dialogue. Brits also found an appetite for celebrity company in front of the box, with David Attenborough, Ant and Dec and Olivia Colman ranking top three of Britain's most sought-after telly companions. And 22 per cent think nothing of stopping a show at a vital moment – to go to the loo or make a cup of tea. While nearly a fifth (19 per cent) of dozy watchers who took part in the study by are also liable to nod off mid-episode.
