Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office releases dash cam video of pursuit through airport taxiway

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Deputies released dash cam video of the nearly 18-mile pursuit that passed through a taxiway of the Fond du Lac County Airport on May 19, ending in the arrest of two men. The pursuit began around 8 a.m. on Monday, May 19, when a deputy noticed a vehicle on I-41 that had allegedly been involved in a police chase in Grand Chute. After the deputy turned on their emergency lights, the vehicle fled on Highway 151. Deputies previously stated that during the chase, dispatch got a 911 call from a passenger in the suspect vehicle reportedly 'screaming for help' and asking to be let out of the vehicle. Fond du Lac County authorities identify man killed in three-vehicle crash After other squad cars joined in to help, and a near crash into a ditch, the suspect vehicle headed towards the Fond du Lac County Airport. In the released video, the vehicle can be seen driving through airport property and onto a taxiway. Shortly after, the suspect vehicle was trying to get back onto I-41 when a successful PIT maneuver ended the pursuit. The driver and his two passengers were taken into custody, however, one of the passengers was later released. 'Our release highlights the collaborative efforts local law enforcement deployed to bring two subjects into custody after an early morning pursuit,' deputies said in Wednesday's release. 'A firearm was recovered from the scene during an article search conducted by a City of Fond du Lac Police Department K9.' Deputies went on to say that their investigation revealed that the suspects were allegedly thinking about shooting at pursuing deputies to try and 'back them off.' The two men who were arrested face the following charges: , 27 (Driver) 4 counts of 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety Repeater Possess firearm-convicted of a felony PTAC Repeater Vehicle operator flee/elude officer Repeater False imprisonment Repeater Resisting or obstructing an officer Repeater Possession of a controlled substance Repeater Possession of narcotic drugs Repeater 6 counts of criminal damage to property Repeater Battery or threat to judge, prosecutor, or law enforcement officer Repeater , 27 (Passenger) Possess firearm-convicted of a felony PTAC Vehicle operator flee/elude officer PTAC Possession of methamphetamine Possession of narcotic drugs Young had his cash bond set at $200,000, while Tinoco got a cash bond of $10,000. Authorities say the chase covered 17.9 miles, and four sheriff's squad cars were damaged during the pursuit.
