Reddit faced a massive outage on Wednesday, leaving thousands of users unable to access content across the site in US. The disruption, which started around 9.30 pm IST, has affected several users in US and many parts of India, with homepage feeds, subreddits, and comment sections failing to a post, Reddit confirmed the outage at 12:21 pm EDT, adding it has implemented a fix for the outage and is monitoring results. The company said it has 'identified the cause of the issue and are working to address it.'Reddit spokesperson Courtney Geesey-Dorr told Forbes Wednesday afternoon an 'update we made caused some instability' but the company is 'seeing Reddit ramp back up' after the fix.

Reddit users began reporting an outage at about 11:40 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, which swiftly spiked to more than 120,000 reports around noon. Reddit did not specify a reason for the outage, but made a post on X at 11:52 a.m. EDT saying it is 'investigating this issue.' According to DownDetector, reports of Reddit outage being down peaked around 11:50 a.m. EDT. The site recorded over 119,000 outage reports, with users saying both the app and website were inaccessible.
One person expressed, 'Down again! I almost got my comment posted, too.' Another wrote, 'Reddit is down? How will I ever know what to be angry about today?' A third person added, 'After all this time when I got time to go thru Reddit, it's down.'
