Somerset prison attraction offers discount for Taunton residents
A Somerset prison attraction is offering a 60 per cent discount on its annual pass for Taunton residents.
Cove Attractions, the company that runs Shepton Mallet Prison, is extending an offer to residents in the TA and BA postcode areas for its Inmate Pass, which gives unlimited entry for 12 months to Shepton Mallet, Shrewsbury, and Peterhead Prisons.
To claim the offer, residents can visit the and use the code 'LOCAL60' at checkout.
The promotion is available until Friday, July 18.
Joel Campbell, CEO of Cove Attractions, said: "This is all about bringing these powerful stories and extraordinary spaces to even more people.
"The response has been phenomenal – we knew we had to open the gates wider."
The pass is aimed at history enthusiasts, families, and anyone curious about Britain's prison heritage.
It allows unlimited visits to all three sites for a full year, making it ideal for repeat visits during school holidays or weekends.
Mr Campbell said the discount is part of their mission to make these historic sites more accessible.
Visitors can explore the cells, exercise yards, and execution rooms of the former prisons, each with its own unique history.
