Pedestrian killed, highway closed after crash in Pitt Meadows, B.C.

Motorists are being advised to expect delays on Lougheed Highway in Pitt Meadows, B.C., following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian early Wednesday morning.
Cpl. Dave Noon of the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service said crews had been deployed to the major highway, also known as Highway 7, at Harris Road for a 'serious vehicle incident' involving a pedestrian.
The statement, posted to social media site X, was made just before 4:30 a.m.
An officer from the scene has since confirmed the crash was fatal.
Shortly after 3:30 a.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP said Mounties were responding to a collision in the 19000 block of the highway, in a statement posted to X.
All westbound lanes of Lougheed Highway have been closed.
'Expect significant delays while we investigate. There is no anticipated time for reopening,' said Noon.
