In India, they will further attend a 28-day national camp before departing for Bahrain.
A total of 21 boys and 21 girls in the under-17 division will go to Xinjiang, with 14 boxers each (gold and silver winners at the Nationals) making the Asian Games weight categories and remaining seven accompanying the team in the non-Asian Games weight divisions.
Singh informed that this will be the first time that an Indian boxing team (in any age-group or senior format) will travel to China solely for training purpose.

'The invitation came from the Chinese Boxing Association (CBA). We believe that the China camp will be beneficial for our boxers. For now, we are starting with our juniors. We had also planned to send our under-19 and under-22 teams to China for training camps ahead of the Asian Championships. But for now, we have decided against it given the paucity of time and packed calendar. It's the first time that boxing has been included at the Youth Asian Games,' added Singh.
The committee organised a felicitation function at the Capital's Jawaharlal Nehru stadium to honour the medal winners of the recent World Boxing Cup legs in Brazil and Kazakhstan.
The panel announced a prize purse of Rs 17.5 lakh for the 17 medal winners, with gold medallists receiving Rs 2 lakh each, silver winners Rs 1 lakh and bronze medallists Rs 50,000.
Singh said the BFI's elections will be held before the Aug 31 deadline set by World Boxing.
