Brits spending less than ever on 'me time' as two in five admit 'doom scrolling'
The survey of 2,000 UK adults found that despite a whopping 97 per cent of people agreeing that taking time out is essential for their wellbeing, very few are Frazzled Brits are spending less time than ever recharging their social batteries - with a weary two-fifths classing doom scrolling as 'self care'. Despite wellness being very much in vogue, half of Brits (47 per cent) are getting less 'me time' than they managed five years ago. Shockingly, doom scrolling on TikTok, Instagram, X and other social media platforms was considered a form of self-care by two-fifths (38 per cent) of Brits. The survey of 2,000 UK adults found that despite a whopping 97 per cent of people agreeing that taking time out is essential for their wellbeing, very few are. The research, commissioned by Fox's Fabulous Chocolatey, revealed that more than one in ten (14%) struggle to remember the last time they did something indulgent just for themselves. Of those quizzed, just one third (36%) of people are managing to take a moment for 'me time' every day. Back-to-back meetings, endless to-do lists, and juggling the needs of others leave Brits with very little time for themselves. Work topped the list of barriers to self care (25%), lack of time (13%) and looking after kids (13%) came joint second while spending time with family (10%) rounded off the top three. Pets and digital distractions (4%), and guilt (3%), are also reasons why, alongside money, people struggle to find time. Fox's Fabulous Chocolatey has teamed up with the king of fabulous himself, Craig Revel Horwood, to encourage Brits to put themselves first for once and ditch the guilt. Craig said: "Darling if you're not treating yourself, then what are you doing? Life's far too short not to take time for yourself to indulge and unwind. "That's why I'm thrilled to partner with Fox's Fabulous Chocolatey because, frankly, we all deserve a moment that's as luxurious, rich and generous as these fabulous biscuits." To help inspire the nation to indulge, Fox's Fabulous Chocolatey is launching the Fabulous Me Time Moments competition, giving one lucky winner £1,000-worth of luxury spa vouchers. Isobel Farthing at Fox's Fabulous Chocolatey said: "It's really shocking how few of us give ourselves permission to properly unwind. We believe a little indulgence goes a long way. Fox's Chocolatey Rounds are baked with generosity in every bite, the perfect accompaniment to much-deserved me time." For more information, and to enter the competition, visit Fox's Instagram page. Strictly stars forced to slash ticket prices by 80% after failing to sell out tours
ALJAZ Skorjanec and Janette Manrara are the latest Strictly stars to slash ticket prices by 80% after failing to sell out their tour. Tickets for the couple's May 21 performance at the London Palladium are now available for just £15 on seat-filler site, Central Tickets. 4 By comparison, fans booking through Ticketmaster are being charged between £34 and £88 for the same event, raising questions about demand and pricing strategy for the show. Aljaz, 35, who lifted the Glitterball Trophy last year alongside Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, has long been a fan favourite. His wife and professional dance partner Janette, 41, is equally loved by viewers and has continued to shine since stepping back from the main Strictly line-up. The sudden drop in prices echoes similar recent struggles faced by other Strictly stars with their live events. Just last month, The Sun revealed that Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood was forced to slash tickets for his one-man show by more than 70 per cent at some venues. Tickets for his gig at Birmingham's 2,262-seat Symphony Hall, scheduled for April 20, were originally priced between £39 and £89. But in a last-ditch attempt to fill empty seats, prices were quietly dropped to just £11 on seat-filling site Show Film First - a platform often used by artists and theatre producers to salvage undersold events. Despite the steep discount, more than a third of tickets were still unsold just hours before Craig took to the stage. The evening had promised 'big songs, tall tales, and glamour', as Craig swapped critiques for cabaret to showcase his lesser-known musical talents. Around the same time, Nadiya Bychkova faced her own challenges in selling out her 'tell-all' one-woman show. Inside Strictly couple Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec's luxury babymoon at Slovenian retreat Tickets for her tour, A Special Evening with Nadiya, were being flogged for as little as £5, with sources claiming she was struggling to fill venues across the country. Seats originally priced between £27 and £43 were cut to just £5 in a desperate attempt to fill seats - also through Show Film First. During the show, Nadiya pledged to lift the lid on her life story and share behind-the-scenes gossip from her time on Strictly, as well as perform some of her most memorable dances from the BBC series. 4 4 4

Craig Revel Horwood reveals he thought he'd be killed by abusive father
Craig Revel Horwood has opened up about fearing his father would kill him as he spoke of how he suffered abuse during his childhood. The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 60, told Loose Women on Tuesday (15 April) how he kept the abuse a secret and did not tell anyone for fear of potential repercussions. "I kept his drinking a secret... If he ever found out [I'd told anyone] I thought I'd be killed.' "It was real, proper abuse, and it was horrible to come home to."
