Funeral details announced for Donegal grandmother (82) killed in tragic crash
Bernadette Cranley was the driver of a silver Toyota Vitz which was in collision with a blue Suzuki Vitara on the Mellon Road between Omagh and Newtownstewart near the folk park at around 12.30pm. Bernadette 'Bernie' Cranley from Lifford in Co Donegal, was aged 82. The funeral of a Donegal woman who died in a tragic crash on the A5 in Co Tyrone will be held later this week. Bernadette (Bernie) Cranley (née Barron) of St Columba`s Grove, Ballyduff Park, Lifford and and formerly of Kildare Road, Crumlin, Dublin died following a two-vehicle collision outside Omagh on Saturday afternoon, May 24, 2025. A death notice for Ms Cranley said, 'Much loved mother of Rebecca, Simon, Nicola and Sean, mother-in-law of Kathryn, Luke and Clare, dearly loved grandmother of Darcey, Louis, Lola, Patrick, Lexie, Sienna, Kiera, Elledie and Zara and sister of Bridget, Louie, Paddy, Benny, Kay, Tony and the late Tommy, Clare, Fran and Maura. A woman aged in her 80s has died in a two-vehicle crash in Co Tyrone. Bernadette (Bernie) Cranley was from Lifford in Co Donegal. Ms Cranley, who was 82, was the driver of a silver Toyota Vitz that was involved in a collision with a blue Suzuki Vitara on the Mellon Road between Omagh and Newtownstewart near the Ulster American Folk Park at around 12.30pm on Saturday. The other driver, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to serious injuries. PSNI Inspector Cherith Adair, from the collision investigation unit, said: 'Our inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the collision, and we would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam footage which could assist us.'

A WOMAN from Co. Donegal has died in a two-vehicle collision in Co. Tyrone. Bernadette (Bernie) Cranley, 82, from Lifford died in the incident outside Omagh on Saturday afternoon. Ms Cranley was driving a silver Toyota Vitz that was in a collision with a blue Suzuki Vitara on the Mellon Road between Omagh and Newtownstewart near the folk park at around 12.30pm. The other driver, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to serious injuries. "Our enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the collision, and we would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam footage which could assist us," said Inspector Cherith Adair of the PSNI.
