Chris Hemsworth to Star in Action Movie "Subversion"

Yara Sameh Chris Hemsworth is set to star in the submarine action flick "Subversion" at Amazon MGM Studios. Patrick Vollrath (7500) is directing the movie from a script by Andrew Ferguson, and Di Bonaventura Pictures producing. "Subversion" follows a once-promising Naval commander (Chris Hemsworth) who is blackmailed by a cartel-like operation into piloting a dangerous submarine carrying illegal cargo across international waters, thrusting him into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, outmaneuvering blockades, and navigating perilous threats both in and outside of the submarine. The movie reunites Hemsworth with Amazon MGM Studios as he's also starring in Crime 101 for writer-director Bart Layton alongside Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Halle Berry, and Monica Barbaro, which is set to be released theatrically next year. The project reunites four-time Black List honoree Ferguson with the studio, where his script Blood Rush is in development. Coming off of projects like "Extraction II" and "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" — where he gave a career-best performance as Dementus — and "Transformers One", Hemsworth is confirmed to reprise his role as Thor in "Avengers: Doomsday", which also hits theaters in 2026. Other projects to which he's recently been linked include an Untitled Transformers/G.I. Joe Crossover at Paramount and a Prince Charming movie that Paul King is expected to direct for Disney, if the studio doesn't completely back off from live-action films, in the wake of "Snow White". read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 .. Marvel stars Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry and Mark Rufflao reunite for heist movie; fans chant ‘Thor, Storm, Hulk'

Forget Mjölnir and green monsters born out of serums — Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo are swapping out their superhero gear for lockpicks and detective hats in the upcoming thriller Crime 101. Directed by Bart Layton (American Animals, 2018), the film is based on Don Winslow's gritty novella, and if the source material is anything to go by, this one's more high-stakes than an Avengers reunion. The plot? Classic heist gold. A string of glitzy, rule-bound jewel robberies has detectives puzzled — until Lou Lubesnick (played by Ruffalo) starts closing in on the meticulous thief. But as the cat-and-mouse chase escalates, the story promises to blur the line between criminal and cop, justice and obsession. Sounds like Thor and Hulk have some emotional heavy-lifting to do! Amazon MGM Studios is locking this one in for a February 13, 2026 release, perfectly timed to steal hearts (and maybe a few diamonds?) over the long Valentine's Day weekend. But what really has fans hyped is the cast. Alongside Hemsworth and Ruffalo, the film stars Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Tate Donovan, Devon Bostick, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte. A true ensemble to rob the box office. Online, fans are already losing it. 'That cast alone is carrying half the tension already,' one person posted on X. Another chimed in, 'Thor storm Hulk,' while someone else hilariously summed it up with: 'Hulk, Thor, Storm, and the guy from Eternals walk into a bar… actors in other movies.' Other fans also shared this sentiment, saying, 'This is going to be chaos in the best possible way,' and 'Exciting cast, intense thriller ahead.' But it's not just the plot and cast winning people over. Off-screen, Hemsworth's real-life heroism is making waves, too. In a recent interview, Halle Berry praised Hemsworth for backing her up during a tough moment on set, though she chose not to reveal specifics. '(He's) a stand-up guy. I won't go into it now, but he stood up for me in a moment in our movie, and instantly I knew right then I'm gonna follow this guy, be a fan of this guy for the rest of his life because he stood up for a woman.' She added, He didn't have to do it and he did it.' With Marvel chemistry, an electric premise, and some very real camaraderie behind the scenes, Crime 101 is shaping up to be a cinematic steal. Will you be watching it?

Halle Berry praises Chris Hemsworth for ‘standing up for her' during filming of new movie

Halle Berry has praised Chris Hemsworth for standing up for her during the shooting of their latest movie. Oscar-winner Berry, 58, and Hemsworth, 41, are both leads in Crime 101, based on the novella of the same name written by Don Winslow. The film, directed by Bart Layton, also stars Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan and Poor Things' Mark Ruffalo. Berry and Hemsworth shared their mutual admiration for each other during the promotion of the film, as the Catwoman star revealed she had experienced some awkwardness during its making. '[He's] a stand-up guy,' Berry told E! News at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. 'I won't go into it now, but he stood up for me in a moment in our movie, and instantly I knew right then I'm gonna follow this guy, be a fan of this guy for the rest of his life because he stood up for a woman. 'He didn't have to do it and he did it.' Hemsworth, who is due to start filming the next instalment of Avengers, returned the respects admitting he had been 'very intimidated' to work with her. 'I've admired Halle's work for many, many years,' he said. 'I was obviously very intimidated to sit opposite her within a scene and try and, you know, not just be in awe of what she was doing.' He added: 'Certain people just bring out not just the best in you, but also sort of a comfort level where it feels like it's a place to explore and it's a place to examine different ideas and try different things. And that was the experience [with Berry]. I loved every second of it.' Berry has attempted to end the rumours claiming she'll return as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday, which starts shooting this month in London. The actor was notably missing from the list of actors who would appear in the sequel, which is bringing back a number of stars from the films released between 2000 to 2016. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and James Marsden will all reprise their roles as Professor X, Magneto and Cyclops, as will Alan Cumming and Rebecca Romijn as Nightcrawler and Mystique, respectively. Kelsey Grammer will also return as Beast, having shown up in a post-credits sequence for 2024 film The Marvels.
