Man injured in Chesapeake shooting on Schooner Trail
CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – The Chesapeake Police Department are investigating a shooting in which a man was shot around 1:26 a.m. Saturday on the 4000 block of Schooner Trail. The man received injuries considered to be non life-threatening. The investigation is active and ongoing. At roughly 11:21 p.m. on Sunday, Newport News police responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 27th Street and Wickham Avenue. Jarred Michael Cabanban was last seen on Tuesday after being released from Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center at approximately 12 p.m. He is described as being 5'10 and 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Man dies in shooting inside business on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard in Newport News
NEWPORT NEWS — A man was shot and killed inside a business Saturday night, according to police. Officers responded just after 9:20 p.m. to a report of a shooting inside the Family Fare convenience store at 685 J. Clyde Morris Boulevard, off Forrest Drive, according to public information officer Matthew Michalec. A BP gas station is also at the location. When police arrived, they found 32-year-old Dreshaun Pruden, of Newport News, with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
