Three brothers 'poisoned to death'
Three young brothers died in Taunsa Sahrif after their health suddenly deteriorated under mysterious circumstances. A murder case was registered on the complaint of the father of the deceased, Khwaja Ghayasullah, who shared suspicion of poisoning of his sons aged one to four years. According to local sources, the family of then complainant was embroiled in property disputes. The source said one-year-old Muhammad Umar died at Taunsa Sharif Tehsil Headquarters Hospital while undergoing treatment, while two-year-old Ghulam Muhammad and four-year-old Moinuddin were referred to the Children's Hospital in Multan, where they also passed away. The victims were initially shifted to the THQ hospital. Dera Ghazi Khan District Police Officer Tariq Wilayat visited the home of the bereaved family and obtained information about the incident. Khawaja Ghayasullah expressed suspicion that his son had been poisoned, upon which the DPO ordered immediate registration of ten case and directed the Crime Scene Unit to collect evidence. The official also went to the THQ hospital and obtained information about the children from doctors. He said on the occasion that the incident would be investigated from every aspect and anyone found involved would be arrested. Taunsa city police registered the case of poisoning under Sections 302 and 324 against unidentified suspects on the basis of the statement of the father of the deceased, and launched an investigation. Samples from the bodies would be sent to a forensic lab. The bodies were handed over to the family after post-mortem. Funeral prayers for then three children were offered at Darbar Alia Sulaymaniyah, following which they were laid to rest. A large number of local people, including police and administration officials, attended the funeral. Two shot dead A 13-year-old girl and a man were shot dead by a rival group in Basti Jumna Chandia, near Dera Ghazi Khan. The girl, Rabia, and Shafqat were killed in firing allegedly over an old enmity. According to local residents, both the victims were hit while fertilising their land. When they came near a road, the suspects, Fayyaz Sajjad and Riaz, opened fire, resulting in the death of both of them. The residents said their was an enmity between the attackers and the victims who were neighbours. The DPO and Gadai SHO Karam Elahi assessed the situation and obtained information from the area elders present at the spot. An investigation team was ordered to thoroughly look into all aspects of the incident. The bodies were shifted to the Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.

The Pakistani entertainment industry was left in shock following the tragic news of actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali's passing. Gizri Police confirmed on Tuesday that the 35-year-old's body was discovered in her Karachi apartment, where it had likely remained for nearly 20 days. The grim discovery was made when her landlord, accompanied by a court bailiff and police officers, arrived to execute a court-ordered eviction due to non-payment of rent. Humaira had reportedly stopped paying rent in early 2024, though she had been living in the third-floor flat in Ittehad Commercial area of DHA Phase VI since 2018. Initial assessment suggests natural causes, but the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy. The flat has since been sealed, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police have yet to locate any of Humaira's family members. She was believed to be living alone with limited contact, which contributed to the delay in discovering her death. Adnan Siddiqui, who also hosted Tamasha, where Humaira was a participant, wrote on Instagram, "Inna lillahi wah inna ilayhi raji'un. Deeply shocked and saddened. A young life cut so short suddenly. May you be in peace Humaira and your family get the strength to deal with the vacuum you have left behind." Former co-star Atiqa Odho, also posted a photo with Humaira from their drama Ehsaan Faramosh, stating "Woke up to this shocking and tragic news. 'Check on those alone' Actor Faysal Quraishi, also voiced his condolences on social media, pleading with people "to keep a check on those who live alone". Singer Zoheb Hassan took to his Facebook, voicing "This is such sad news and not the first time this has happened in Karachi where single women have been found dead in their apartments. Reports say her death was natural causes. I still urge the Government of Pakistan to initiate a thorough investigation and ensure the safety of our daughters, sisters and mothers living alone." Udaari actor, Hina Altaf, echoed the same sentiments as him, expressing on her Instagram, "She lived alone. She passed away alone. And days went by without anyone even noticing. This isn't just a loss, it's a wake up call. Check in on your friends and also people who never asked. May Allah forgive her and give her the highest rank in Jannah. May Allah give strength to souls who are battling so quietly." Mawra Hocane, Ahmed Ali Butt, Madiha Imam and Sadaf Kanwal also reacted to the news with sadness. Two dead in gunfight over 'runaway wife'
The second husband of a runaway wife shot dead her third husband in the Mohammad Khan Colony slum of Baldia Town on Wednesday. Fuming with vengeance, stoked by his Pashtun pride, Sang Gul, a resident of Tank district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, had come searching for his wife, Nabeela Bibi, to Karachi, with his nephew Madho and other men. A man named Saifur Rehman had brought her to Karachi and they were living in a predominant Pashtun neighbourhood which made it easy for Sang Gul to track them down. According to reports a deadly shooting erupted inside a house in Baldia Town's Mohammad Khan Colony on Wednesday evening, leaving two men dead and two others - including a woman - injured. Police said the incident stemmed from a personal and family dispute involving the woman's former and current husbands. According to police, the incident occurred near Route W-25 stop in Mohammad Khan Colony. Upon receiving reports of gunfire, Ittihad Town police reached the scene and shifted the bodies to Civil Hospital for legal formalities. The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Saifur Rehman and 28-year-old Madho. The injured were identified as Nabeela Bibi — wife of the deceased Saifur Rehman — and Saif's brother Atiqueur Rehman. DIG South Asad Raza confirmed that weapons were recovered from the scene. Initial investigation indicates that the clash was a result of an ongoing personal feud between the two parties. Police said that Saifur Rehman had brought Nabeela Bibi, a married woman, from Tank district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Karachi. Later, Nabeela's second husband, Sang Gul, arrived in Karachi with several men, including his nephew Madho, to take her back. The confrontation turned violent and escalated into a gunfight inside the house. Both Saifur Rehman and Madho were killed in the exchange, while Nabeela and her brother were seriously injured. SHO Ittihad Town Rao Shabbir said that this was Nabeela's third marriage, and the second deceased — Madho — was the nephew of her second husband. The remaining assailants, including Sang Gul, fled the scene after the shooting. Police have launched a manhunt to arrest the absconders. It was unclear whether Sang Gul had divorced her or she had eloped with Saif, police said. Meanwhile, the Crime Scene Unit arrived at the spot, collected evidence, and sealed off the area. Police are recording statements from the injured and continuing the investigation.

The first happened just before 12:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Grant Street, according to a statement from police.
