Pair of dognappers steal 2 French bulldogs from NYC home during string of violent heists: cops

A brazen pair of dognappers stole two French bulldogs from a Queens home during a string of heists over the weekend, cops said. The thieves made their way inside the Long Island City apartment at Crane Street and Jackson Avenue around 10 p.m. Saturday and swooped up the pair of pooches – worth $1,700 – plus a large stash of clothing, authorities said. The victim, who was not home at the time, said he had locked the door to his apartment, and when he came home, reviewed security footage that showed the pup poachers raiding the place, sources said. 3 The men pictured here are suspected of stealing two French bulldogs from a Queens apartment — and robbing two other men at gunpoint, police said. NYPD The resident did not know the suspects, and it is unclear how they got inside, according to the sources. About three hours earlier, the same pair – riding in a white car – allegedly pulled up to another 31-year-old man at Crane Street, cops said. One flashed a gun and the other punched and kicked the victim, before grabbing his iPhone and house keys, authorities said. The suspects fled in the same car and the victim refused medical treatment, cops said. 3 The violent duo wore black masks during at least one of the stick-ups, surveillance shows. NYPD In the earliest stick-up, around 3:20 p.m. the same day, the brutes – wearing black masks – pulled up to a 27-year-old bike-riding man in the white car, according to cops and startling surveillance video. One of them whipped out a gun, while the other pulled him into a car and punched him – before they grabbed the victim's iPhone and $800, police said. They fled in their getaway ride and the injured victim went to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital on his own, authorities said. 3 The suspects' Saturday spree spanned about 6 hours in Long Island City, cops said. NYPD One of the alleged suspects is described as a man with a light complexion, between 20 and 25 years old, standing about 5-foot-8 and weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a Bulls cap and black sweater. The other suspect, who had a dark complexion, is believed to be about the same age, standing around 6 feet tall and weighing around 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray baseball cap and gray sweater. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Good Sam straphanger pummeled unconscious, then has pockets picked — twice — on NYC train

A good Samaritan straphanger who tried to intervene during a fight on a Queens train was pummeled unconscious by the aggressor — who then picked his pockets before another suspect robbed him, too, cops said. The 61-year-old victim was on a southbound F train at the 21st Street-Queensbridge station around 9:15 p.m. May 15 when he tried to cool things off during an argument between two other commuters, police said. One of the feuding riders then turned on the do-gooder, punching and kicking him in the face until he was knocked unconscious, cops said. Cops released photos of two men who allegedly attacked a good Samaritan straphanger in Queens earlier this month. NYPD Once the rider was knocked out, the callous attacker picked the victim's pockets, grabbing unspecified items, before running off, police said. Another pickpocketer then took advantage of the victim while he was still out cold – ripping off $45 and other belongings, cops said. The victim was rushed by EMS workers to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. The suspects allegedly robbed the victim as he lay unconscious on the train. NYPD The alleged attacker, captured in a surveillance photo released by the NYPD Sunday, is described as standing about 6-foot-2 and last seen wearing a black vest over a yellow hoodie. The second alleged pickpocketer is described as a man with a heavy build last seen wearing a black jacket emblazoned with the word AYA and a black cap with the Nike logo and carrying a black rectangular backpack. Anyone with information on the brutal mugging is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
