Tennis stars are involved in heated bust-up after match as former Wimbledon quarter-finalist tells his opponent: 'See you outside'
Two tennis stars have been involved in a bust-up at the end of their match at the ATP 250 Bastad 2025. The competition has been taking place in Sweden from July 7 to July 20, with competitors still in the competition now reaching the crunch rounds in their bid for success. On Wednesday, meanwhile, two players let their emotions get the better of them when they clashed in their last-32 match on the clay court. Fifth seed Camilo Ugo Carabelli had just beaten Cristian Garin in straight sets, getting the better of his opponent 6-4, 6-4 in a comfortable victory to set up a game against Botic van de Zandschulp in the next round. It was a well-mannered game, but, after, tempers flared and the two stars, from Argentina and Chile respectively, exchanged words with a threat thrown in too. As they made their ways to their chairs, words were seemingly said before Garin lashed out. According to Puntodebreak, Carabelli was heard calling his opponent a 'bobo', which translates to 'fool' or 'idiot' in Spanish. Garin then replied: 'Why do you call me idiot?', before adding: 'Why are you calling me fool, what's wrong with you?' He then reportedly asked the umpire to intervene, with the umpire responding: 'I don't understand' as they asked the players to talk in English. Garin - a former world No 17 and Wimbledon quarter-finalist - reportedly added: 'I'll see you outside to see if you have the guts.' Carabelli, had reportedly told his opponent: 'Nobody likes you,' and wished him a safe flight home on the back of his defeat. The Argentine beat Botic van de Zandschulp 2-1 in the next round to reach the last-four of the competition. The match had started on Tuesday, with just five games played before proceedings came to a halt because of rain, with Garin 3-2 up with a break to his name. Play continued on Wednesday, with Garin reportedly annoyed by Carabelli's celebration after the match.

Third-seeded Zverev falls to Rinderknech in five-set marathon
LONDON :Alexander Zverev became the highest men's seed to fall in a brutal first round for top players at Wimbledon as the German lost a five-set marathon to France's Arthur Rinderknech on Tuesday. Third seed Zverev and Rinderknech were locked at one set apiece on Monday when play was stopped, but after the resumption on a sultry Centre Court the Frenchman ground out a 7-6(3) 6-7(8) 6-3 6-7(5) 6-4 victory. It was Zverev's first opening round defeat at a Grand Slam since Wimbledon in 2019 and leaves him still searching for a first major after 38 attempts.
