Charlie Kirk says 'I'm done talking about Jeffrey Epstein'
Justin Baragona, The Independent The marching orders have been received, and some of Donald Trump's most loyal foot soldiers in the MAGA media ecosystem are already dutifully falling in line. After the right-wing uproar over the Justice Department's Jeffrey Epstein memo hit a crescendo this weekend after the president's Truth Social post calling for the MAGA base to let it go and leave Attorney General Pam Bondi alone, key Trump ally Charlie Kirk declared on Monday that he was "done talking about Epstein" for the time being. Kirk's announcement comes a day after he spoke to the president on the phone to express his support for Bondi, according to CNN. Bondi has come under extreme fire from MAGA critics, including Kirk, who have blasted the attorney general for releasing an unsigned memo last week concluding that Epstein had no "client list," died by suicide while awaiting trial, and did not blackmail prominent figures who allegedly took part in his underage sex trafficking. "Members of the president's inner circle have also reached out to some of Bondi's critics to essentially ask them to ramp it down, noting that Trump, at this moment, was not getting rid of his attorney general," CNN added. "Sources cautioned that while Trump was currently still supporting Bondi, things could always change." Trump privately doubling down in his support for Bondi comes after he took to his social media site on Saturday afternoon to complain about his "boys" and "gals" continuing to obsess over the Epstein case, adding that files related to the disgraced financier were "written by Obama" and "Crooked Hillary" and were therefore not worth "caring about." He added that his supporters should cease calling for Bondi to be fired over the memo. "They're all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!" Trump blared on Truth Social. "We're on one Team, MAGA, and I don't like what's happening. We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and 'selfish people' are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein." Over the weekend, Kirk - the founder of MAGA youth organisation Turning Point USA — hosted the group's Student Action Summit in Florida, which saw many of the attendees raging about the way the Trump administration has handled the Epstein case. While much of the anger was directed at Bondi, who once claimed she had the deceased sex offender's long-fabled "client list" on her desk for review only to now claim it doesn't exist, the president himself also faced pointed accusations of hiding Epstein's supposed co-conspirators. "In 2016, we trusted the plan with Trump, but now Trump has become the deep state. What is more deep state than covering up for pedophiles?!" one SAS attendee exclaimed before referencing Trump's lengthy past friendship with Epstein. Kirk, along with other MAGA luminaries, devoted much of their time at the conservative confab to criticizing the White House's handling of the situation while warning the president that he risked alienating many of his most devout supporters by dismissing their concerns of an administration "cover-up" on Epstein. "Do I think this is the end of MAGA? No. I've never said that," Kirk told the Washington Post over the weekend. "Do I think the extra 10 to 15 per cent of [less inclined to vote] bros that are trading crypto and wake up at 2pm every day ... do I think they're going to be, like, 'Screw it?' Yeah. That's a huge risk." However, by the time Monday's episode of his podcast came around, Kirk made it known that he was going to heed the president's orders to shut up about the fiasco. "Plenty was said this last weekend at our event about Epstein," he stated. "Honestly, I'm done talking about Epstein for the time being. I'm gonna trust my friends in the administration, I'm gonna trust my friends in the government to do what needs to be done (and) solve it. Ball's in their hands."

On Truth Social, the latest Trumpism: Attention, please
Donald Trump has worn many hats — real estate tycoon, reality TV star, politician. Through it all, he has exhibited two traits. First, Trump knows how to grab attention. Second, what he lacks in syntax and vocabulary, he makes up for with a brazen confidence that often crosses into rudeness. From 'huge', 'big', 'best ever' and 'amazing' to 'Sleepy Joe' and 'Crooked Hillary' — his speeches and social media posts (often in all caps, with multiple exclamation marks) have stuck to this pattern. Now, on Truth Social, the US President has taken to ending his posts with the phrase, 'Thank you for your attention to this matter!' Apart from the exclamation mark, this latest Trumpism lacks all the hallmarks of his unique style. It has a whiff of bureaucratese, of the dry sign-offs of middle management communiques and emails from HR. Memes are mocking the contradiction of his online diatribes with the staid, pro forma ending. Take his post on June 24, in which he wrote about having 'obliterated' Iran's nuclear facilities, the reaction and the path to peace. There's no need to end such a post with gratitude for attention: After all, Trump announces the fate of wars, students and immigrants, and international climate pacts on social media. Whether people want to or not, they are paying attention. Even before he took office, there were apprehensions about Trump's maverick attitude to institutions, precedents and mores of democracy. Optimists hoped the office would temper Trump's worst tendencies. There has been little evidence of that — except for the recent expressions of gratitude. It's not much, really. But some politeness is better than none at all.

Trump has brutal two-word nickname for Stephen Miller, report claims
President Donald Trump famously has a penchant for making up nicknames to mock his enemies. There's Crooked Hillary, Sleepy Joe, Lyin' Ted Cruz, and Little Marco Rubio. There's now another to add to the list: 'Weird Stephen.' The epithet has been applied to the deputy chief of staff for policy, Stephen Miller, according to biographer Michael Wolff. 'There is an awareness that Stephen Miller is a problem,' Wolf said on The Daily Beast podcast. 'And even Trump calls him 'Weird Stephen.' Because he is weird, by the way. I mean, you can't spend a moment with him and not say, 'Oh, something's off here.'' 'He doesn't make eye contact,' Wolff added. 'And then he talks to you in this monotone voice, and it feels very revvy, you know, the engine of his voice keeps going, and you kind of step back.' Wolff was discussing the possibility that Miller might lose his standing in Trumpworld if his efforts to deport large numbers of immigrants fail. Miller has called on Immigration and Customs Enforcement to arrest at least 3,000 migrants a day. However, Trump at one point wavered in his stance on the removals. The Washington Post reported on Monday that the administration was reversing a planned pause on immigration raids on worksites connected to the agricultural, hotel, and restaurant industries. The Department of Homeland Security announced that raids would resume at such worksites during a Monday morning call with representatives from 30 ICE offices. Miller battled the initial pause on the raids. Wolff noted that the president's spectacular falling out with Elon Musk, the former head of the Department of Government Efficiency, is what can happen if someone within Trump's orbit acquires too much power. 'Trump, who is lazy, lets other people be in charge, until they're perceived as being in charge. Then they're no longer in charge,' said Wolff. 'Michael Wolff is a lying sack of s*** and has been proven to be a fraud,' a White House spokesperson told The Daily Beast in response to the claims regarding the nickname. 'He routinely fabricates stories originating from his sick and warped imagination—only possible because he has a severe and debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has rotted his peanut-sized brain.' Top ICE officials had a heated discussion with Miller late last month as the Trump adviser berated them for falling short on the number of arrests. 'Miller came in there and eviscerated everyone. 'You guys aren't doing a good job. You're horrible leaders.' He just ripped into everybody. He had nothing positive to say about anybody, shot morale down,' an official who spoke to those in the room during the meeting told the Washington Examiner. 'Stephen Miller wants everybody arrested. 'Why aren't you at Home Depot? Why aren't you at 7-Eleven?'' the official added, recounting what happened. 'Stephen Miller did not say many of the things you state,' ICE deputy assistant director of media affairs Laszlo Baksay told the Examiner. Following the ouster of National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Trump said he was considering Miller for the role. Secretary of State Marco Rubio currently serves as the national security adviser in an interim capacity. "I think he sort of indirectly already has that job. Because he has a lot to say about a lot of things, he's a very valued person in the administration, Stephen," Trump said last month. A former Trump adviser told NBC News last month that 'Stephen is the president's id. He has been for a while. It's just now he has the leverage and power to fully effectuate it.' Trump told NBC News that it would be a 'downgrade' to appoint Miller to be national security adviser. 'Stephen is much higher on the totem pole than that,' said Trump. 'I don't know that there is any policy area where his guidance is not sought,' the adviser added. 'The president might not always go with exactly what he wants, but his input is always listened to.' A top Trump adviser added to NBC News that 'President Trump built much of his current political success by standing with the American people on immigration, and doing what others have been unwilling or unable to do — close the border.' 'There has been no bigger advocate of that in the history of the country than Stephen Miller,' the adviser said. 'That, at its core, is why the president trusts him so much and relies on him to a degree that is matched by very few.'

Jon Stewart Says Donald Trump Has 1 ‘Genius' Skill, And He Just Failed Miserably At It
You could say a snowflake-acrat thinks a certain dumb-publican has lost a little of his sparkle. On Monday night's episode of 'The Daily Show,' Jon Stewart showed concern for Donald Trump after the president debuted his nickname for a new and nefarious political party brewing in the United States. In a Truth Social post published Tuesday, Trump responded to mounting criticism surrounding his completely unhinged tariffs by telling all his haters that they're just 'weak and stupid.' 'The United States has a chance to do something that should have been done DECADES AGO,' Trump wrote. 'Don't be Weak! Don't be Stupid! Don't be a PANICAN (A new party based on Weak and Stupid people!). Be Strong, Courageous, and Patient, and GREATNESS will be the result!' Over on 'The Daily Show,' Stewart expressed disappointment in a wordsmith like Trump coming up with a dud of a nickname like 'Panican.' 'Panican?' Stewart asked, stunned. 'The genius who gave us classics like 'Sleepy Joe' and 'Crooked Hillary' just shit out, 'you're a Panican?'' He later added, jokingly: 'Did the overseas factory you had been sourcing your nicknames from get shut down during the tariff war?' Stewart felt so let down by Trump that he even decided to throw out a few suggestions for Trump to mull over. 'How about Hysterocrats? Repussicans? How about Cryontologists?' he asked. Stewart went on to point out how Trump's response to the financial crisis offline is further proof of his apathy. 'In case you didn't get the point that he doesn't give a fuck, he spent the weekend showing, not telling,' Stewart said. '[Trump] played not a round of golf this weekend, [but] a tournament of golf. A three-day tournament.' Stewart was by no means the only person who felt 'panican' lacked the president's usual panache. Social media users also mocked the nickname over on X, formerly Twitter, with one user saying: 'He knows he's fucked—you can tell because the best insult he could come up with is 'panican' (??).' Ultimately, much like 'fetch' in 'Mean Girls,' X users felt that 'panican' is not going to happen — even if Republicans try to push it as hard as Gretchen Wieners. One X user predicted, 'Get ready for every insufferable MAGA pundit to try and make 'PANICAN' a thing.' Jon Stewart: Donald Trump's Latest Nickname Proves He's Finished
With President Trump's tariffs spurring a stock market breakdown, Jon Stewart is disappointed by Trump's uninspired attempts to save face. In his Monday monologue, Stewart showed viewers Trump's recent Truth Social post telling Americans, 'Don't be a PANICAN (A new party based on Weak and Stupid people!).' 'Panican?' Stewart replied. 'The genius who gave us classics like 'Sleepy Joe' and 'Crooked Hillary' just s--t out 'you're a Panican'?" Stewart offered Trump some suggestions: 'How about Hysterocrats? Repussicans? How about Cryontologists?' Stewart jokingly asked Trump, 'Did the overseas factory you had been sourcing your nicknames from get shut down during the tariff war?' Stewart ripped into Trump's other responses to the panic over the stock market, like his Truth Social post on Friday declaring, 'ONLY THE WEAK WILL FAIL.' 'Your economic policy has the same tagline as season three of Squid Game?" Stewart joked. 'It's supposed to make us feel better?' For Stewart, Trump's most tone-deaf response to the financial crisis happened offline: 'In case you didn't get the point that he doesn't give a f--k, he spent the weekend showing, not telling,' Stewart said. '[Trump] played not a round of golf this weekend, [but] a tournament of golf. A three-day tournament.' Stewart also ripped into one of Trump's core arguments behind his new tariff policy, the idea that America has been taken advantage of by its long-time trade partners. 'We continue to blame everybody else in the world that we designed and policed after World War II," Stewart said. 'We're the richest country in the world ever. We're not the world's victims. If we have inequalities in this country, that's on us.' Stewart concluded by showing a montage of journalists underlining the scale of the current crisis, before saying directly to Trump: 'Financial destruction not seen since the pandemic, and this time there's no controversy over how it all started... You, Trump, released the contagion.' 'It's your lab leak,' Stewart said. 'And it's right out in the open.'
