We move to running backs. MORE PREDICTIONS: Where the top five uncommitted QBs will land CLASS OF 2026 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2027 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State TRANSFER PORTAL: Full coverage | Player ranking | Team ranking | Transfer search | Transfer Tracker RIVALS CAMP SERIES: Rivals Five-Star heading back to Indy | Rivals Five-Star roster | Schedule/info Getting a great read on Cooper's recruitment is getting a little tougher as some major programs make a serious push. The five-star all-purpose back just returned from an excellent visit to Auburn as the Tigers are trying to push even higher in his recruitment. The Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna standout heads to Miami this weekend and then goes to Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State. Texas is working on getting a trip as well after a strong visit to Austin recently. An argument could be made in numerous ways here as former Chaminade Madonna standout Jeremiah Smith is starring with the Buckeyes, he continues to show significant interest in Georgia and Miami is going to do everything possible to keep him home. It seems like the Hurricanes have a slight edge heading through this month. Prediction: Miami It would be an absolute shocker if the four-star running back from Jackson, Ala., does not commit to Alabama on his June 26 commitment date. Texas has worked hard to stay involved with Crowell. Auburn keeps working on him and his teammate four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth. Georgia is also in the picture. But the Crimson Tide have led for a long time here and that has not seemed to change in recent weeks. Crowell reclassified from 2027 to 2026 and Alabama has always led. That should remain the same heading into his decision. Prediction: Alabama Texas remains the front-runner in Edwards' recruitment but things have gotten much more interesting for the four-star running back from Carthage, Texas, in recent weeks. Edwards replaced two seemingly throw-away visits to Baylor and SMU (he was never going to either of those programs) with Alabama and LSU. Texas A&M is still battling for the East Texas standout but his relationship with new Texas running backs coach Chad Scott is growing all the time and the Longhorns remain the team to beat – maybe by a wide margin. Prediction: Texas There is a little opaqueness in Hiter's recruitment as Michigan had been the front-runner for a long time and it looked like things were heading in that direction with Georgia very much involved with the four-star from Mineral (Va.) Louisa County. Tennessee is now surging in this recruitment and while the Volunteers might not be the clear front-runner things are definitely trending in that direction. Ohio State is getting more in the mix as well so things could keep changing. But Tennessee is starting to take a lead in his recruitment, overtaking Michigan and others. Prediction: Tennessee Auburn and Florida State are making this interesting and Clemson seems to be surging a little bit for the Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County standout, but it would still be a shocker if Lamar doesn't end up at Georgia. The Bulldogs have made him a priority for the longest time. Georgia position coach Josh Crawford used to coach at Colquitt County and the SEC power has the edge in his recruitment. Clemson could make this super interesting especially since he's visiting there this weekend. Florida State is less than 90 minutes away with former teammate Landen Thomas there. But the Bulldogs are the favorite. Prediction: Georgia

Auburn tabbed a finalist for four-star RB Ezavier Crowell ahead of June commitment date

Auburn tabbed a finalist for four-star RB Ezavier Crowell ahead of June commitment date Crowell will now announce his commitment in June, nearly six months before his original date. Earlier this month, 2026 four-star running back Ezavier Crowell announced he was moving his commitment date up from his previous announcement date of Dec. 31. On Thursday, Hayes Fawcett of On3 reported that Crowell will declare his commitment on June 26, nearly six months earlier than his original date. Auburn remains in the mix to land the nation's No. 4 running back, joining Alabama, Florida, Texas, Georgia, and Florida State. Auburn currently has seven commits for the 2026 recruiting class. If the Tigers are able land Crowell, he will be the first running back commitment for the class that ranks No. 33 nationally by 247Sports. He has visits scheduled for Georgia (May 30), Texas (June 6), Auburn (June 13), Florida State (June 15), and Alabama (June 20). The current Auburn running back room features Damari Alston, Jeremiah Cobb, and Justin Jones as returning players, with Alston and Jones leading the group as seniors. They will also feature UConn transfer Durell Robinson, who is a sophomore. Robinson, Cobb, and four-star 2025 signee Alvin Henderson are slated to return for the 2026 season. The addition of Crowell could give the Tigers an elite backfield combo in the future. Crowell is currently the No. 7 ranked player by 247Sports in Alabama, and No. 92 nationally from the 2026 recruiting cycle. Last season, he rushed for 1,964 yards and 31 touchdowns as a junior, and led the Jackson Aggies to the AHSAA Class 4A state championship.
