Road closed after person hit by car in city incident

A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on a busy Cardiff street. The incident happened late on Friday night on Crwys Road, in the Cathays area of the Welsh capital. Police arrived at the scene and a section of the road between Richard Street and City Road, was closed off in both directions. It remained closed for around an hour and a half and a male pedestrian was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged, police have confirmed. The road is currently closed in both directions between Richard Street and City Road. We're grateful for your patience.' In an update on Saturday morning, the force said: 'We were called at 11.25pm last night, Friday June 27, to a report of a driver having collided with a pedestrian on Crwys Road, Cathays, Cardiff. 'The 21-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital as a precaution. He has since been discharged. The road reopened shortly before 1am on Saturday.'
