Road closed after person hit by car in city incident
A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on a busy Cardiff street. The incident happened late on Friday night on Crwys Road, in the Cathays area of the Welsh capital.
Police arrived at the scene and a section of the road between Richard Street and City Road, was closed off in both directions. It remained closed for around an hour and a half and a male pedestrian was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged, police have confirmed. Late on Friday (June 27), a spokeswoman for South Wales Police said:' We're at the scene of a serious collision on Crwys Road in Cathays. The road is currently closed in both directions between Richard Street and City Road.

"It is expected to remain closed for some time; please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. We're grateful for your patience.'
In an update on Saturday morning, the force said: 'We were called at 11.25pm last night, Friday June 27, to a report of a driver having collided with a pedestrian on Crwys Road, Cathays, Cardiff.
'The 21-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital as a precaution. He has since been discharged. The road reopened shortly before 1am on Saturday.'
