When the Telegraph's Y2K crosswords took a poetic turn
As Britain prepared to welcome a new millennium (and uncertainty swirled around the eponymous bug) The Telegraph ushered in the year 2000 with not one, but two puzzles.
One was 'the biggest Cryptic Crossword ever printed' in the newspaper. The other was this 'poetic crossword' with clues in rhyming couplets – the same format that Leonard Dawe had used to celebrate Puzzle 10,000 back in 1958.
