Newly married M'sian vents about paying all the bills

A newlywed man's anonymous complaint about shouldering all household expenses has gone viral — triggering a firestorm of opinions on X (formerly Twitter) over marital expectations and financial expectations. In a post shared by user @meinmokhtar, the man questioned whether it was normal for one partner — in this case, himself — to shoulder all financial responsibilities. 'Hi bro, I just got married. Is it normal for all the financial commitments to fall on me? 'My wife doesn't help at all. I understand my responsibilities and providing nafkah (maintenance), but what about other things like Coway, Cuckoo bills, electricity — can't she help even a little?' He then admitted that his single life was better. 'Marriage like this is painful. Being single was better.' Cancel Cuckoo, buy mineral water. Pay for what's essential and limit the rest.' @not_fiz echoed the sentiment: 'Cut out anything that feels like a burden. If your wife insists on keeping it, ask her to pay.' @noneednamehere: 'You're a husband, but acting foolish. Talk to your wife — why are you ranting here on X? If you can't afford it, why were you so eager to get married? Whatever it is, it's still 100% your responsibility. If you want her to help, talk about it properly — don't go gossiping online.' Top 10 Horror Movie Locations That Would Make the Ideal Summer Getaway

Long days, short nights and hot temperatures that are so brutal they start to feel like a horror movie. Summer has officially kicked off which means the heat waves are only gonna get more and more frequent. A lot of people relax by the pool, park themselves near the closest AC unit, or if you're anything like me — go inside and turn the fan on high while binge-watching horror movies to keep away from the unbearable heat. With a large number of highly anticipated horror movies releasing this summer, like the sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer (July 18) and Weapons (August 8). It got me thinking: What horror movie locations would actually make great summer vacation spots? So, here's a list of chillingly beautiful getaways that might help you escape the heat…and a masked villain or two! 1. Midsommar (2019) - A hauntingly beautiful horror film that has, dare I say, the best spot for a summer vacation. Endless daylight, flower crowns, and the lush fields of the Swedish countryside that Florence Pugh frolicked in would make for a great spot to hang with friends during the summer, right? What could possibly go wrong… 2. Friday the 13th (1980) - The movie is set during a summer camp, so it had to make its way onto this list. Camp Crystal Lake is the perfect summer spot. It's got a lake, a couple of cabins and a whole lot of greenery that makes it a great place to cool off and have fun for the summer… unless you're a camp counselor of course, then maybe not so much. 3. A Quiet Place (2018) - The best horror blockbuster of the last decade and has a great setting too. Set in the peaceful countryside of upstate New York, so not the most traditional summer getaway but still makes for a relaxing retreat. 4. Jaws (1975) - A horror classic that doubles as a beach day cautionary tale. Although, Amity Island is fictional, it gives off real New England summer town vibes that is ideal for a needed vacay. Whether you're into beach fashion or just want to tan by the water (without getting eaten), this one's for you. 5. Cuckoo (2024) - A horror film that flew way too under the radar. Cuckoo is set in the German Alps, surrounded by crystal-clear lakes and breathtaking mountain views. It's eerie, yes - but also stunning. If you're looking for an offbeat, scenic escape with just a touch of dread, this is your spot. 6. I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) - With another addition to the franchise coming soon, now's the perfect time to revisit this iconic slasher - and its setting, Southport, North Carolina. With its small-town charm, fishing docks, and coastal vibes, it seems like a relaxing place for a summer escape. 7. Turistas (2006) - Three friends backpacking through Brazil sounds like an ideal summer it isn't. But even with all the terror, the film's tropical beaches and vibrant nightlife make it seem like a fun and exciting getaway (just maybe skip the torment). 8. Eden Lake (2008) - A widely under seen British horror movie that had one of the most jaw dropping endings I'd ever seen but also features a beautiful lake surrounded by forest. It may be terrifying, but the setting is oddly serene. 9. The Shining (1980) - A horror classic that is undeniably spooky but also has amazing views. The Overlook Hotel offers unmatched views of the Colorado Rockies. Imagine the wildlife spotting, cozy cabin vibes, and long walks through the vast forests… just maybe avoid Room 237. 10. Triangle (2009) - Who wouldn't want to be trapped on a forever cruise? Sounds fun - even though it obviously wasn't in this horror movie. But excluding the horror and time loops, the open sea and luxurious boat setting would make for a dream summer trip.

Just eight months on from his awe-inspiring Glasgow debut at King Tut's, Stephen Wilson Jr made his return to Scotland's biggest city on Wednesday to headline a sold out show at the Barrowland Ballroom. A former microbiologist and youth boxer, the growth of the Southern Indiana songwriter's profile over the last 12 months has been remarkable. A reflection of the emotive power of his remarkable debut album Søn Of Dad, the pre-show queue appeared endless, with the visibly excited crowd jostling to get the perfect spot to catch his mammoth two-hour set. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad From the opening trifecta of Calico Creek, Billy and Cuckoo all the way through to the intimate encore of Gary, his ability to connect with his audience via evocative storytelling left the crowd an open invitation to confront their own emotions in the safety of strangers. The crowd shine their phone torches as Stephen Wilson Jr plays Father's Søn at the Barrowlands Ballroom in Glasgow on 25 June | Davis Hepburn It's hard to believe the cap-wearing frontman has recorded just one full-length album. Opting to concentrate on songwriting full-time in late 2016, Wilson Jr's mixture of raw country and grunge is fresh, compelling and completely authentic. Coupled with contemplative lyricism, its an almost unbeatable blend. There was even room for some classic covers too. As the old adage goes, a good cover is always best when the artist makes the song their own, and his double hit of Ben E King's Stand By Me followed by Nirvana's Something In The Way felt totally original, with each classic track dipped in Wilson Jr's special brand of emotive introspection.
