Every cat parent knows that kitties pick their favorite human if they live in a home with more than one. They're not very subtle about it, and some felines have no hesitation in reminding their non-favorite of this fact any time they get the opportunity.
We see this play out in one hilarious video of a sassy Black Cat who has very different reactions depending on which human in the home is giving him some love. He has a huge double standard when it's cuddle time with Mom and Dad, and it's making everyone laugh. Take a look at this in action!
TikTok user Salem (@certifiedbeanboyy) shared a video of a really beautiful Black Cat named Salem. He loves his parents, but there's a clear favorite between Mom and Dad, and it's pretty obvious.
Salem is the happiest cat when he's sitting with his mom, enjoying some ear scratches. We can see his happy paws making small air biscuits and drifting off into sleep.
But the vibe 100% changes when it's Dad trying to give Salem some love. Of course, he goes for the belly rub, which is always a risky move with cats, and instead of getting calm air biscuits, Salem attacks his dad's hand with all four the comments, people had a good giggle at the difference between how he treats his mom and his dad, clearly favoring one over the other.
One person wrote, "My husband has scratches all up his arms from the cat who would never raise a finger at me."
Another shared, "Somehow my husband and I swapped, and I'm the gremlin parent while he's the gentle one."
Someone else added, "Big difference there, duhhhhh. Mom is petting. Dad is playing. Show dad petting… the cat."
Other comments included, "The rabbit feet with my hand stuck in his paws is the worst," "It's always more fun with Dad," "Dad activates the kill subject and defends belly mode," and "It's the other way around for me."
One joked, "It's so hard being a single parent [because] I gotta be both so she never knows what's coming."

They explain that spending time with them, matching their interests, petting them often, and talking to them are great ways to help build a relationship and establish trust, becoming a favorite human.
While it's clear Salem likes to play with his two parents in different ways, we're sure there's so much love between them.
