Registration opens for Gulf Film Festival in Muscat
Muscat – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth has announced the opening of registration for the Gulf Film Festival, set to take place in Muscat from November 16 to 19. Organised in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the festival is held annually in line with regulations issued by the General Secretariat and as part of the GCC Cultural Strategy 2020–2030. The ministry has called on filmmakers in Oman to submit their works and take part in the festival's competitions, which cover a range of categories including feature films, documentaries and short films. Participants will compete for a number of cash prizes, including Best Feature Film, Best Short Film and Best Documentary Film. Additional awards will be given for Best Direction, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Soundtrack, and Best Actor and Actress. The event offers a valuable platform for Omani filmmakers to highlight their talent and creativity, and underscores Oman's growing role in the region's cinematic landscape.
