For a limited time, it will take its place alongside the likes of William Shakespeare, Sir David Attenborough and Stormzy at the London wax museum's Culture Capital zone, dedicated to those who have shaped Britain. Greggs chief exec Roisin Currie said: 'Seeing our sausage roll receive the celebrity treatment is a proud and slightly surreal moment for all of us at Greggs.' The model snack was crafted at Madame Tussauds' London studio following the same process used for human figures. Artists spent hours ensuring it was correct in every detail. The plaque notes Greggs was founded in 1951 — and that 365million of its sausage rolls, each with 96 layers of flaky pastry, are bought every year. It is the first time that an individual food item has been so honoured at the attraction. Jo Kinsey, studio manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: 'The Greggs sausage roll is synonymous with British culture — we just had to put it in our Culture Zone. 'Our artists have put in numerous hours to capture every detail. The pressure was on to capture it perfectly because we know how passionate Brits are about their favourite pastry.' 4 The display cabinet - with protective glass - at Madame Tussauds Credit: Jonathan Short

King 'flabbergasted' by magician Steven Frayne's money trick as he and the Queen visit Bradford
The King was "flabbergasted" after a magician turned pieces of newspaper into £20 notes as he and the Queen visited Bradford in West Yorkshire. The monarch met Steven Frayne as the royal couple toured the UK City of Culture. Frayne, who used to be known as Dynamo, was born in Bradford, and got his big break when the royal's trust awarded him a grant. The entertainer produced a handful of note-sized pieces of paper and told him "I've got some newspaper clippings but I've been trying to take any bad news and turn it into good news". And as he tapped the paper pile, it turned into £20 notes and the King held the money to verify it. The classic "pick a card" trick with a twist followed and the monarch's apt selection of "King of Hearts" became the new name for a string of wifi hotspots in the Bradford Live venue when the King named his card. The royal burst into laughter and Frayne said later: "I've been fortunate to visit him in the royal estate, but it's nice to bring him back to my hood, to my estate - from council estate to royal estate. "He's created an opportunity for someone (who felt) I'm invisible, there was no hope. It's almost come full circle as now he's back in Bradford, 2025 we're the capital of culture and he's once again inspiring hope and he's inspiring his own type of magic in all these incredible people." Asked about the King's reaction to the magic, the entertainer replied: "He just said it was absolutely phenomenal and a lot of amazing words that made my magic sound incredible, he said keep going, and said he was flabbergasted." Frayne told the royal he "wouldn't be doing magic today without the support you gave me". The King replied: "But it was your determination - you studied." Frayne was one of a group of people who the King supported through his King's Trust who met him at a refurbished venue which will play a key role during Bradford's cultural year. The King also recognised another of the city's famous sons, painter David Hockney, while the Queen visited the nearby home of the Bronte sisters.

Footballer Kylian Mbappé Unveils Lifelike Waxwork At Madame Tussauds London
Kylian Mbappé has officially joined the ranks of global icons at Madame Tussauds London. The 25-year-old Real Madrid and France forward came face-to-face with his astonishingly lifelike wax figure in Madrid, ahead of its public unveiling in London next month. Dressed head-to-toe in his UEFA Euro 2024 French away kit, complete with shin pads and captain's armband - all donated by the man himself - the statue strikes his signature arms-crossed celebration pose. "Woah, this is incredible!" Mbappé exclaimed, clearly stunned by the uncanny resemblance. "It's so surreal. The hair, the pose... it looks just like me! The artists are insanely talented." The star collaborated closely with Madame Tussauds' expert team, undergoing hundreds of measurements to ensure the figure captures every detail - from his confident stance to that unmistakable sparkle in his eye. In celebration of the launch, kids under 16 wearing any official Mbappé shirt - whether from France, Real Madrid, PSG or Monaco - can get free entry to the attraction between April 4 and 21. Steve Blackburn, General Manager at Madame Tussauds London, called the footballer "a cultural powerhouse" and said the team was "immensely grateful" for Mbappé's involvement: "We've captured every tiny detail to bring fans as close as possible to their hero." The waxwork lands just in time for Easter and just before the footballing sensation himself touches down in London - with Real Madrid set to face Arsenal in the Champions League on April 8. This marks Mbappé's second Madame Tussauds figure, following the unveiling of his Berlin statue last May. The new figure will take pride of place in Madame Tussauds London's Culture Capital zone starting Friday 4 April.
