Bay Building Industries Association begins 46th annual Parade of Homes

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – The Bay Building Industries Association or BBIA's 'Parade of Homes' begins on Friday. Builders can enter one of their homes into the showcase to display their work. Coastal Classic Homes was selected to build the 'Scholarship Home' this year. This means builders donate their time to build the home at no cost. BBIA's vendors then donate materials to help lower the cost of the home, which allows them to raise more money for the scholarship. Over the past 9 years, the Bay Builders Industries Association has given away $187,000 in scholarships to 150 students. It supports the next generation of students entering the construction industry. 'I wanted to be a part of this because it gives back to the community. It supports the students in trying to enter the workforce and into the construction industry. And it's just to be able to serve, give back, and work with the association. It's always been always been an honor,' Coastal Classic Homes President Brian Knox said. It took four and a half months for them to build the 4-bed, 2-bath modern home. They cut the ribbon on Wednesday, and the home is already under contract for someone to move in. The scholarship home is one of 28 stops in this year's parade. There's an incentive for those who stop at all of them. 'We do offer what's called our parade passport. If a person goes to every stop, you can get a specific sticker, each one of the homes or the stops that you go to at the end of the parade, you turn that into Mid-South Lumber, and they're offering two cash prizes of $500. So you would be entered into a possibility to win one of those $500 cash prizes,' Bay Building Industries Association's President Curt Hartog said. The Parade of Homes will continue this weekend. They have homes from Cape San Blas to Panama City Beach. You can find that list of homes Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
