Tata Motors prepares to unveil Harrier EV, spotted undisguised ahead of launch: What to expect
Tata Motors is set to expand its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of its fourth all-electric model — the much-anticipated Harrier EV. Scheduled for debut on 3 June, the Harrier EV will assume the position of the brand's new electric flagship, placed above the recently introduced Curvv EV. As per a report from HT Auto, the EV has been spotted undisguised on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The prototype, seen without camouflage, hints at a production-ready design, signalling that Tata is in the final stages of preparation ahead of its market arrival. According to the report, the Harrier EV could remain largely faithful to its internal combustion engine (ICE) sibling but may add distinct electric-specific design elements. These are likely to include a sealed-off front grille, reshaped air dam, updated skid plate, and newly designed aerodynamic alloy wheels. The exterior also reportedly features heavy side cladding and roof-mounted lighting elements, though it remains to be seen whether these will be standard or optional. Interestingly, the test vehicle lacked both the roof lights and cladding. One notable design detail is the charging port, located on the right front fender — mirroring the placement on the ICE version of the Harrier. Under the hood, the Harrier EV is expected to offer an electric powertrain capable of delivering an estimated range of around 500 km on a single charge. Furthermore, it will likely feature Tata's newly developed All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, dubbed 'QWD', which promises improved off-road capability and on-road traction. Inside the cabin, the Harrier EV is anticipated to mirror the plush and tech-loaded interior of its ICE counterpart. Buyers can expect features such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, and a dual-screen setup that combines the infotainment touchscreen with a digital instrument cluster. Additionally, Tata is likely to equip the SUV with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) capabilities — technologies that could allow the car to power external electronic devices or even recharge other electric vehicles.

Watch Tata Harrier EV On Mumbai-Pune Highway Before June 3 Launch: ‘Location Of Charging Port...'
Last Updated: Recent sightings have captured the Tata Harrier EV undergoing high-speed testing on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Tata Motors is all set to launch its much-awaited all-electric Harrier next month. Touted as the first full-sized SUV EV, the Tata Harrier EV will be going up directly against the Mahindra XEV 9e. Being the fourth EV SUV in the Tata Motors lineup after the Nexon EV, Punch EV, and Curvv EV, the Harrier EV will be launched on June 3, 2025. Ahead of the launch date, Tata's new flagship EV was spotted plying on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, giving a clearer glimpse of its exterior. In a set of images making the rounds on the internet, the Harrier EV could be seen speeding on the road without any camouflage. The vehicle appears to be a production-ready model, as evidenced by the pictures, which show a white SUV with silver wheels. Speaking of the exterior, it seems similar to the ICE Harrier, with the same silhouette and overall layout. The exterior and design of the Harrier EV were already revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025; however, the key features are yet to be unveiled. Social media users seemed satisfied with the placements, with one of them commenting, 'I feel the side is a better place for the charging port because front collisions can damage it. But aesthetically, the front port is better. Otherwise, for big SUVs, just give 2 charging ports for convenience." Another added, 'Apart from being placed on the rear quarter panel on the driver side like its ICE counterpart, it makes practical sense—easy access for the driver without walking around… it also keeps the front area free for a possible large frunk… works well with a dual motor setup." While specific technical details of the Harrier EV are still under wraps, it has been confirmed that the electric SUV will feature an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, made possible by a rear axle-mounted electric motor. It is also expected to house a larger battery pack than the one seen in the Curvv EV, with a likely torque output of around 500 Nm. Design-wise, the Harrier EV retains several signature elements, including vertical LED headlamps, a blacked-out D-pillar, a floating roofline, blade-shaped DRLs, and vertically stacked LED fog lamps integrated into the rear bumper. Key features include a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, dual-zone climate control, connected car technology, ventilated leather seats with power adjustment, and a panoramic sunroof. The EV also embraces modern functionalities like Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging. As for pricing, the Harrier EV is expected to be launched in the Rs 25–30 lakh (ex-showroom) range. First Published: May 24, 2025, 09:01 IST

Tata Harrier EV to be the brand's flagship electric car, India launch on…
Tata Harrier EV will be the flagship SUV from the carmaker upon launch, replacing current flagship Curvv EV. The Tata Harrier EV has been revealed in near-production guise and will go on sale soon. Notify me The Tata Harrier EV is all set to be officially launched in India on June 3. Upon arrival, this will be the flagship electric car from Tata Motors, replacing the current flagship EV of the OEM, the Tata Curvv EV. Tata Motors has already showcased the Harrier EV in multiple iterations, the latest being the production-ready model at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 earlier this year. Tata Motors has not revealed anything about the hardware part of the upcoming electric SUV, but hinted the Harrier EV will arrive, promising a range of about 500 kilometres on a single charge. Also, most importantly, this will be the first new generation vehicle from Tata Motors to get a 4WD drivetrain, owing to a dual motor setup, with each powering one axle. The Tata Harrier EV is expected to retain the design philosophy that we saw at the Auto Expo 2025. In that case, it would look largely the same as the diesel Harrier facelift. There will be vertically stacked LED headlights, positioned below the blade-like DRLs, while they will be connected by a full-width light bar. Other design elements will include flared wheel arches, rising window line merging with the thick and blacked-out D pillar for a floating roof effect. At the back, there will be a connected light bar and bumper-mounted vertical fog lamp housings. Also Read : Upcoming cars in India Expect the Tata Harrier EV to get the same features that are available in models like the Curvv EV and Nexon EV. This means the upcoming Tata Harrier EV would come with V2L, V2X features, which will allow the EV to power other electric vehicles and appliances using its own battery power. Another interesting feature of the Harrier EV could be the summon feature, which is essentially a self-parking technology. However, expect it to be available on the top-spec model only. Another key feature would be the ADAS suite onboard the EV. It could come packing a level 2 ADAS suite. Tata Motors currently holds the lion's share in the Indian electric passenger vehicle market with its range of electric cars including Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV, Curvv EV and Punch EV. With the upcoming Harrier EV, the automaker is aiming to grab a larger chunk of the segment. Expect the Tata Harrier EV to be priced in the range of ₹ 24 lakh to ₹ 30 lakh (ex-showroom), which will put the electric SUV on the upper level of models such as the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Kia Carens EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara as well.
