Dubai's RTA to auction 350 exclusive number plates of 3, 4, and 5 digits
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to hold its 79th online auction for exclusive number plates, offering 350 distinctive plates consisting of three, four, and five-digit combinations for private vehicles, classic vehicles, and motorcycles. The auction includes plates bearing codes H through Z, covering the following categories: H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z. Registration for the auction opens on Monday, May 19, and will remain open for five days only. The auction will go live on Monday, 26 May 2025. All sales are subject to a 5 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT), and all participants must hold a valid traffic file in the Emirate of Dubai. To participate, bidders are required to submit a security cheque payable to RTA amounting Dh5,000, along with a non-refundable participation fee of Dh120. Payments can be made at the Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, and Deira, or via credit card through the RTA website. The auction terms also require successful bidders to complete payment within 10 working days from the auction's closing date. Payments can be made at authorised service provider centres as follows: cash for amounts up to Dh50,000, and certified cheque or credit card for amounts exceeding Dh50,000. Transactions may also be completed at Customer Happiness Centres or via the RTA's website.

Dubai to auction 90 unique vehicle plate numbers on April 26
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to auction 90 distinctive vehicle plate numbers, including two, three, four, and five-digit combinations from codes (AA-BB-CC-I-J-O-P-T-U-V-W-X-Y-Z). Among the highlights are the highly sought-after super numbers (BB 19), (BB 20), and (CC 22), which will be available at the upcoming public auction No. 118. The auction will take place on Saturday (April 26,,2025), with registration opening on April 21, 2025. The event will be held at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel, with bidding commencing at 4:30 pm. Interested participants can register for the auction via the RTA website ( the RTA app, or at the Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, and Al Barsha. Seating will limited and priority will be given to registered participants. To guarantee a spot, particiapnts are urged to do early registration. On-site registration will also be available at the auction hall starting at 2:00 pm. The sale will be subject to a 5% Value Added Tax (VAT). To participate, customers must have an active traffic file in the Emirate of Dubai, submit a security deposit cheque of Dhs25,000 payable to the RTA, and pay a non-refundable registration fee of Dhs120. Payments can be made at the Customer Happiness Centres, via credit card on the RTA website, or through the RTA app.

RTA to auction off 90 special Dubai license plates
The Dubai number plate auction is back this month and it's expected to showcase some very special options. The RTA has announced a new electronic auction will take place from Saturday April 26 at the Grand Hyatt Dubai and it's expected to bring in some serious cash. Amongst Dubai license plates, it tends to be the case that the smaller the number, the more expensive the plate. The two, three, four and five-digit numbers for distinctive vehicle plates of the categories (AA-BB-CC-IJOPTUVWXYZ) will be up for grabs, with registration now open. However, the most prominent of which are the super numbers 22 CC, 19 and 20 BB. For an idea of how much the plates cost, it's worth noting that in 2024, a two-digit number plate, AA16, saw a winning bid of Dhs7.32 million, with the three-digit plate, AA999 reaching Dhs4.05 million. If you're interested in getting involved, you can register on the RTA website, or at the Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira and Al Barsha. However, if you want to get involved then you need to be serious, as you will have to provide a security-cheque of Dhs25,000 to the RTA in advance as well as pay for a Dhs120 subscription fee when you register. Speaking in a statement, the RTA said: 'Those wishing to participate in the auction can also register through the Authority's website, the RTA app, or the Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, and Al Barsha. 'It is worth noting that seats will be limited and priority will be given to auction participants. Therefore, it is preferable to pre-register for the auction. DEWA attains ‘Globally Distinguished Digital Services' classification in international digital customer experience standard
