Cyberjaya University to tighten security following student's murder
KUALA LUMPUR: Cyberjaya University has pledged to tighten its security measures following the death of a 20-year-old female student at a shared condominium provided by the institution.
In a statement, the university said it was working closely with security experts to further enhance its safety protocols.
"The safety of our students, their families, and the surrounding community remains our utmost priority," the statement read.
The university also confirmed it is cooperating fully with the authorities to ensure a thorough investigation is carried out.
It further urged the public to respect the family's privacy and refrain from speculating or spreading unverified information.
It was reported that the student was found dead in her condominium unit on Tuesday morning, in what police have confirmed as a murder. A manhunt for the suspect is ongoing.
Sepang police chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman, said the victim's body was discovered recently.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
