This year's festival will feature three stages of music. Music headliners include Cajun band Amis du Teche, zydeco band Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, blues artist D.K. Harrell, western swing artist the Kristyn Harris Band, roots band Smithfield Fair, and gospel group the Amazing. Plenty of food vendors will offer traditional Louisiana cuisine, and there will also be a red beans and rice cookoff. This year also features several pre-festival events that are free and open to the general public.
The Folk Festival will be held on Thursday, June 19, at Prather Coliseum, 220 South Jefferson Street, on the NSU campus.
