Man hospitalised in Wexford following alleged assault with weapon in broad daylight

A man has been brought to hospital for injuries suffered in an alleged attack that took place beside a busy bus stop in Co Wexford today, Wednesday, July 23.
The incident took place opposite the main bus stop in Enniscorthy on Templeshannon Quay earlier today and a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána has confirmed that the person was taken to the hospital following the incident.
The area was cordoned off to the public for a period of time for an investigation to take place, but has now been opened again by gardaí and has been cleared for public access.
While gardaí could not confirm the weapon used in the alleged assault, it is understood to be an iron bar of some description.
"An investigation has commenced and if anyone has CCTV, DASH CAM or any footage of this incident or witnessed we would like them to contact us at Enniscorthy Garda Station or on the Garda Confidential line,' said the garda spokesperson.
An investigation into the alleged assault has commenced.
