Around 100 firefighters respond to Northwest DC house fire
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Over 100 firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in Northwest D.C., according to DC Fire and EMS (DCFD). Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire in the 3800 block of Albamarle St. NW, where heavy flames could be seen coming from the home. According to firefighters, the bulk of the flames have been extinguished and it took about 30 minutes. No injuries have been reported, but two adults, two children and one dog have been displaced. One neighbor said he heard screaming. 'Something's serious, and I go over and see their eyes sort of smoldering, a little bit of flames,' the neighbor said. Daviess County fire crews battle semi-truck fire in Stanley

(FOX 56) — Officials with the Daviess County Fire Department (DCFD) said the first crew had a busy two-hour window on Friday night when staff responded to seven calls, one of them being a semi-truck fire. Firefighter rescued after falling through floor while responding to fire in Northeast DC, fire officials say
WASHINGTON () — Crews rescued a firefighter after he fell through a floor while responding to a townhouse fire in Northeast D.C. early Saturday. According to the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD), just after 2 a.m., crews responded to the 2200 block of 16th St. NE for the report of smoke coming from a middle-row townhouse. Upon arrival, they found heavy smoke billowing from the home. Crews discovered a fire in the home's basement and first floor. While responding to the blaze, fire officials said a firefighter fell through the floor and had to be rescued. A 'mayday' call ( a distress signal sent out when a firefighter is in immediate danger) was issued, and crews quickly rescued them from the home. Officials said the firefighter appeared to be uninjured. Events around the DMV to celebrate St. Patrick's Day Firefighters continued to attack the fire, which extended to the home's second floor. However, crews had to use 'extreme caution' due to the unstable nature of the first floor, according to fire officials. Around 20 units and 100 personnel were at the scene to assist and prevent the fire from spreading further. Shortly after 4 a.m., firefighters said the blaze was under control. Crews prevented it from spreading to attached houses, and no injuries were reported. The DCFD added that no one was home at the time of the fire and that fire investigators were at the scene.
