DCR Carson Beach will host the 11th annual Kids Day at the Boston Triathlon, starting at 1 p.m. Kiddos ages 7-15 are invited to race in a 100- or 200-yard swim, followed by a 1K run, while ages 6 and younger can take part in a 100-yard run. Poetry lovers, get ready: the Boston Poetry Marathon is happening again this year. The event starts Saturday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. (or later) and continues Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Community Church of Boston in Copley Square. The public is invited as each of the 100-plus poets has seven minutes to read their work. Free, but donations are welcome.
