Drones worth Rs 35 lakh seized from two passengers at Coimbatore airport
COIMBATORE: Officers of the customs intelligence unit seized drones worth Rs 35 lakh from two passengers who arrived at the Coimbatore International Airport from Singapore on Tuesday. The customs officers intercepted the two passengers, identified as Sankarguru Subramanian and Zahir Hussain, and checked their luggage. They found drones, including DJI Air 3S Fly More Combo, DJI Mini 2, DJI Mini 4 Pro, and DJI Mini 4K. These were China-made drones. Further investigations were on.

Drones seized from two passengers at Coimbatore airport
Officials of the Air Customs Unit at Coimbatore International Airport, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Customs, seized drones and batteries of certain prohibhited specifications worth ₹35 lakh from two passengers who arrived in the city on June 24, 2025. The two passengers, Sankarguru Subramanian and Jahir Hussian, arrived at Coimbatore airport on Tuesday (June 24, 2025) from Singapore on flight TR540. They were carrying numerous drones of the latest designs and batteries in both their checked-in and hand baggage. Official sources said the seized drones included the DJI Air 3S Fly More Combo, DJI Mini 2, DJI Mini 4 Pro, and DJI Mini 4K, all of Chinese make.
