2 men arrested for illegaly flying drones near Chintamani Ganapati pandal
Mumbai: The Kalachowki police booked two including a photographer for allegedly flying drones without permission near the Chintamani Ganapati pandal at Chinchpokli, despite a city-wide ban imposed for security reasons. According to the FIR lodged at the Anti-Terrorism Cell, Kalachowki, police constable Ganesh Vishnu Kolekar, who was deployed for security duty during the Ganpati arrival ceremony, spotted two drones hovering over the area. Acting on instructions, officers traced the drones to the terrace of Sitasadan building on Dattaram Lad Marg, where two men were found operating them. The duo were identified as Nilesh Shankar Deole (36), a professional photographer from Vikhroli, and Nikhil Madhukar Jadhav (38), a resident of Mahim. On being questioned, they admitted they had brought the drones to film the Ganpati procession but did not possess any police permission. Police seized two drones – a DJI Air 3S worth around Rs 1 lakh and a DJI Mini 4 Pro worth around Rs 70,000 – along with their remotes and accessories under panchnama. The DJI Mini 4 Pro is the best mini drone — and it's currently $319 off in Memorial Day sales
As Tom's Guide's in-house drones expert and the person responsible for the best drones buying guide, I'm always on the lookout for good deals on drones. These don't come by very often, but I've found a killer deal in this year's Memorial Day sales — and it's on the DJI Mini 4 Pro, the best mini drone money can buy. Currently, the Mini 4 Pro Fly More combo is $1,379 at Walmart. Not only are you getting the drone for $319 off, but you're also getting the RC-2 touchscreen controller, three batteries, a custom hard case, a portable landing pad, a 128GB microSD card, and other goodies. It's too good to be true! The DJI Mini 4 Pro gains iterative improvements that give this tiny drone a robust package that caters to beginners and experienced flyers. What makes the latest in the series outstanding is its improved low light performance, producing usable footage without the noise and grain other mini drones deliver. The Mini 4 Pro Fly More combo normally retails for $1,699 so there's no better time to save on it than now. The drone itself is packed with features catering to both enthusiast and pro flyers. First of all, you don't need to necessarily register the drone with the F.A.A. as it weighs less than 8.78 ounces / 249g. This means that any adult can fly the drone and also travel with it easily. What makes the Mini 4 Pro so easy to fly is the RC-2 controller, included in the discounted bundle. The RC-2 controller is rated at 700 nits of brightness so you can view it in nearly any environment. Its 5.5-inch 1080P touchscreen is highly responsive and provides a smooth, stable transmission feed. And the footage the Mini 4 Pro records is nothing short of stunning, thanks to 4K/60fps HDR capture, as you can see in the sample video above. The drone is equipped with a three-axis mechanical gimbal which ensures footage is stable. This also means that you can pan, tilt and roll as needed. I also love just how clever the Mini 4 Pro is. Featuring DJI's patented ActiveTrack 360° technology, the Mini 4 Pro accurately tracks subjects and powers several intelligent intelligent flight modes (QuickShots) for quick short content creation. And if you stand behind a tree, the drone will remember your last known location and quickly lock back onto you once you're back in the frame. Aerial photography is becoming more and more accessible every day, and mini drones like the Mini 4 Pro make it possible. I, personally, believe that drones can help you be more creative and give you a new perspective on the world when you see it from above. If I were you, I'd snap up this deal as soon as possible. The Mini 4 Pro is a popular drone and rightfully so. It can capture 12MP / 48MP stills, record 4K/60fps footage, and it boasts a respectable flight time of 34 minutes. $319 off the best mini drone is not something we see everyday. There really is no better quadcopter for those who want to take stunning photos and record beautiful scenery.

Take Flight And Capture Amazing Footage With The Best Drones
While in years past drones were reserved only for hardcore hobbyists, today, thanks to intuitive controls and durability improvements, they can be enjoyed by experienced quadcopter pilots and by amateur enthusiasts alike. The best drones, like my top pick, the DJI Air 3S, have cameras that are Hollywood-ready, can perform fun pre-programmed stunts and have a long battery life. To find the best drones, I checked in with several quadcopter experts, conducted hours of research and personally tested many different drones. Some of my picks are professional-grade drones built for filming TV shows or covering events, like the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, as well as more basic and easy-to-use quadcopters suitable for novice drone fliers, like the DJI Mini 4 Pro. Here are the best drones you can get right now. Range: 12.4 miles | Battery life: 45 minutes | Camera resolution: 4K video, 50MP picture | Weight: 1.5 pounds | Top speed: 60 mph Pros: Cons: If you're wondering why DJI has such dominance in the worldwide drone marketplace, the DJI Air 3S helps explain why the company is a leader in its space. While it's a big larger and heavier than many drones, its battery life is stellar. At full charge (with wind conditions and the intensity of its speed and maneuvering factored in) the Air 3S can stay aloft for up to 45 minutes, nearly three times the flight time of the competition. The range between operator and drone can also reach 20 kilometers, or nearly 12.5 miles. The dual-camera can record in 4K UHD and snap 50MP images, and it can hit a top speed of 60 mph. This is a serious drone meant for serious pilots, and it's one the government takes seriously, too: You'll need to register it with the FAA. But thanks the Air 3S' built-in LiDAR array and sensors on its top and bottom, you won't have to come in for a landing as the sun sets; unlike with many drones, this one is capable of flying well in the dark. This is also an expensive drone; if you're looking for more of a toy, then look elsewhere. Range: 12.4 miles | Battery life: 34 minutes | Camera resolution: 4K video, 48MP picture | Weight: o.5 pounds | Top speed: 35.8 mph Pros: Cons: If you want a great drone but you hardly consider yourself a great pilot, the DJI Mini 4 Pro can stabilize itself in gusty winds and automatically avoid obstacles. It's so good at self-stabilization that you'll have to work harder to crash it than you will to avoid unwanted impacts. After flying this drone on several occasions, I can personally attest to its abilities here, having watched it hover almost perfectly still even as leaves blew sideways past it. I've also watched it dodge tree trunks, parked cars and even indoor obstacles with aplomb. But what might be best of all about this drone—even better than its ease-of-use—is its small size relative to its capabilities. The Mini 4 Pro weighs just 249 grams, or around 0.5 pounds, so it doesn't require FAA registration. It also folds down to where it can fit in a large pocket or small bag, and yet with its four sets of twin blades folded out and ready, it hardly seems small. While the 34-minute flight time asserted by DJI is achievable only in ideal conditions, my testing showed this drone can easily fly about for up to 25 minutes, which is still absolutely solid for a drone at this size and price. Range: 100 feet | Battery life: 7 - 10 minutes | Camera resolution: 720p video | Weight: 1 pound | Top speed: Not reported Pros: Cons: The Fury Stunt Drone from Sky Viper is much more of a toy than any of my other picks on this list. But that said, the Fury Stunt Drone is quite enjoyable, with multiple pre-programmed stunts that can be executed at the push of a button. It also has stable auto hover when it's not performing stunts or being controlled by its user. A downward scanning sensor takes dozens of readings per second and helps stabilize its position, even in gusty winds. And besides, this drone costs well under $50, so the fact that it's perfectly decent if not stellar is actually notable. After flying several Sky Viper drones myself, I experienced two complaints consistently lodged by verified buyers: The battery life and operating range just aren't good. You'll be lucky to get more than seven minutes of active flying out of the Fury, and it can't be controlled beyond 100 feet, with obstacles that break line-of-sight shorting that range even more. If you buy an extra battery or two to compensate for the flight time issues, which you can, based on its price, then you and your family will still have plenty of fun. Range: 0.3 miles| Battery life: 16 minutes | Camera resolution: 8K/4K video, 12/48MP picture | Weight: 0.4 pounds | Top speed: 26 mph Pros: Cons: The HoverAir X1 ProMax drone is a well-reasoned choice for the person who wants to spend more time skiing, cycling, climbing or just wandering around than he or she does working the controls of a quadcopter. It can operate in multiple different modes tailored to keep the camera on you whether you are landing jumps on the slopes, zipping along on your bike or navigating the halls of an office or set. The drone's superb capabilities as an autonomous unit make it a great companion for you on all sorts of adventures, and those adventures can take place at altitudes as high as 18,000 feet and in winds as strong as 24 miles per hour without the X1 ProMax losing stride. The camera can capture regular footage in 8K as well as slow motion footage in 4K clarity. Because the camera operates on a dual-axis gimbal and with 14 stops of dynamic range, framing will always be good and shadows, brightness and colors balanced. I tested this drone around many different spaces: the house, yard, our local streets and in open fields. It offers various modes like follow, dolly track, hover and orbit, all of which can be used without a remote. What I've enjoyed less about this drone? It has a very small screen on its sold-separately joystick (as in it's the size of a matchbook) and its battery life could be better. Range: 9.3 miles| Battery life: 43 minutes | Camera resolution: 5.1K/4K video and 48/20/12MP picture | Weight: 2.1 pounds | Top speed: 47 mph Pros: Cons: The DJI Mavic 3 Pro has three cameras, each with different specs and abilities. There's a true telephoto lens with its 7X optical zoom that captures 4K video and 12MP stills; a medium-angle camera with a 3X optical zoom that captures 4K video; and a 5.1K camera that snaps 20MP images. Suffice it to say this drone captures excellent video and image quality, and that it makes framing a breeze. It can also breeze right along at a zippy 47 mph and has an impressive flight time of 43 minutes in ideal conditions. It's pretty expensive at around $3,000. But if you're using it as a part of your day job or venturing into full-time cinematography, it's well worth the investment. It's also a little heavier compared to other options we tested, weighting 2.1 pounds. Keep in mind that in addition to requiring registration in the US, you also need to register this drone in Europe, should you take it overseas. Range: 8 miles| Battery life: 23 minutes | Camera resolution: 4K video, 12MP picture | Weight: 0.8 pounds | Top speed: 60.4 mph Pros: Cons: If you want a racing drone capable of speeds in excess of 60 mph, the Avata 2 from DJI is a fitting choice. Its durability is strong, which is a boon considering it can travel at those fast speeds at ranges up to eight miles from its user. You can control this zone based on line-of-sight by keeping your eyes on it or you can link it to your phone, but the most fun you'll have here is achieved by strapping on the included goggles and piloting it via FPV, or first-person view. In that arrangement, the drone's high-def camera will serve as your eyes as it zips around. All that speed does a number on the battery, with DJI claiming 23 minutes of flight time per full charge, while reports from verified buyers put the battery life at more like 15 to 20 minutes at best. And while this is one of the pricier drones featured here, it truly is quite capable in terms of performance. Just get to know its flight characteristics slowly and with caution, because even those reinforced propeller guards aren't going to protect the more sensitive parts of the drone from a crash against a solid object at a full 60 mph. The Forbes Vetted team has published hundreds of tech and electronic guides, including outdoor essentials like the best home security cameras and the best outdoor TVs. Before even considering the best drones in terms of specific brands and products, I set out to create best drone categories into which individual quadcopters could be slotted. I first considered some of the top brands on the market, including DJI, HoverAir and more. From there, I dove deep into the following features to choose the best drones. All drones share at least a few things in common, but each drone featured here has characteristics and capacities that make it stand out as a best choice for a given user or use. Here are the factors you should consider when choosing a drone for your needs. Only drones that weigh more than 250 grams need to be officially registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). That's 0.5 pounds, for reference, which means that in fact most of the drones covered here should be registered. The good news: Doing so takes just a few minutes and usually costs all of $5. The most important safety consideration of all when it comes to drone operation is to fly only where it's safe to do so. McDanolds of SDI says of his training courses: 'Throughout the flight training process when you are starting out with a new drone, even as an experienced pilot, it is best to fly in a safe environment.' He adds that once you are quite comfortable with a given device, the definition of a safe environment can change. Anything less than 15 minutes of flight time is more of a tease than a chance for some fun—or some work. That said, many mid-level consumer drones won't do much better, averaging between 20 and 30 minutes of flight per charge at best. Once you are near (or past) the 45-minute flight time, then it's time to start being thankful for that and look at other aspects of your quadcopter. Almost every expert I spoke to unanimously mentioned the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, and we named it the best drone after our own research and testing. Mamaril spoke highly about its ability to capture cinematic shots, saying it was his, 'go-to for cinematic aerial shots.' It also handles image stabilization very well; McDonalds added, 'For stable cinematography without the need for stunts or fast movements the DJI Mavic 3 is a good prosumer drone that allows anyone to be a professional aerial cinematographer with ease.'
