The fast food chain dropped the fan-favourite in a bid to improve and "refine" its menu, bosses said. Unhappy diners jumped online to share their disappointment, with one calling the axe a massive "shame". Another called the move "really disappointing" and said they only discovered the vegan items had been ditched when trying to order online in the last few weeks. Domino's has since confirmed the vegan options have been pulled from menus while the firm "refines" and "updates" its offering. A spokesperson said: 'At Domino's, we're always tuning into what our customers want and updating our menu accordingly. "As part of this ongoing process, we're refining our plant-based pizza selection to spotlight the fan favourites that keep our customers coming back. "We remain committed to offering a tasty range of vegan options that caters to all tastes and preferences, making sure our customers always have plenty of delicious choices to enjoy.' This comes just days after the pizza firm cut the much-loved Ultimate Chicken Mexicana Pizza from its menu. The menu option combined spiced pulled chicken, juicy tomatoes, crunchy onions, spicy jalapenos and green and red peppers, topped with a spiced mayo drizzle. A spokesperson said: "The incredibly popular Ultimate Chicken Mexicana Pizza has been removed from the national Domino's menu. "In this case, it's to welcome the return of our Double Choc Caramel Cookies as well as another exciting product we'll be revealing next week." News the pizza had been dropped from menus left many distraught. One asked: "Hi, have you discontinued The Ultimate Chicken Mexicana pizza? "Was my favourite and hope it comes back." Another rsaid: "That new Ultimate Chicken Mexicana looks banging." Meanwhile another commented: "The new Ultimate Chicken Mexicana is quite good tbf."

Customers can add the new sweet and spicy sauce condiment can be added to any pizza on the Domino's menu. Fans appear to be eager to get their hands on the new menu item, describing it as "genuis". Another customer said they looked like a "whole love language". It will cost £25.99 when it lands in stores and will be available to order in stores and online via the Domino's app. But takeaway fans should be aware the new snack is only available for four weeks, so if you are keen to get your hands on it you will need to be quick. Louise Pilkington, Domino's director of innovation said: "We've blended sweet, pure honey and fiery chilli flakes to create a drizzle that's so delicious; it might just become the talk of the hive. "In addition to tasting The Ultimate Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza, customers will be able to add Hot Honey Drizzle to their Create Your Own pizza creations. It's been so exciting to bring one of my favourite ingredients to the Domino's menu!'. Domino's regularly shakes up its menu to make way for new products. Over Christmas, it brought out a seasonal festive menu which saw the return of Festive Loaded Fries and The Festive One pizza. Elsewhere, fans shared their disappointment when they discovered the Ultimate Chicken Mexicana Pizza had been axed from menus. MORE FAST FOOD NEWS Elsewhere, McDonald's has launched five new menu items in stores this week. That includes the new Big Arch burger. The never-before-seen item has two beef patties, topped with white cheddar cheese slices, crispy onions, fresh onions, shredded lettuce, crunchy pickles, and Big Arch sauce. It will cost £7.99 for the burger on its own or £9.99 for a medium meal. Customers can also get their hands on the Cheesy McCrispy burger and the Toffee Crisp McFlurry, or the Toffee Apple Pie.
