ABB India deploys automation platform for THINK Gas' CGD network
ABB India said that it has successfully commissioned its ABB Ability SCADAvantage solution for THINK Gas, enabling end-to-end automation and digitalization of their city gas distribution (CGD) network spanning ten Indian states. The network spans 19 Geographical Areas (GAs) across Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, comprising 500-plus CNG stations, approximately 5,50,000 registered DPNG connections, and around 17,000 inch-km of steel pipeline connecting industrial and commercial establishments. Using ABBs cloud-based automation platform, THINK Gas has centralized operations and real-time visibility of its CGD networks from its control room in Chennai. ABBs SCADAvantage centralizes and controls the natural gas distribution networks, ensuring efficient energy distribution from the source to end users. The platform enables centralized price management and billing, helps in gas planning and gas reconciliation, pressure and flow control, and improves data accuracy and integrity. With the help of ABB, THINK Gas says it was able to significantly reduce natural gas distribution operational costs, especially operator costs by up to 60 percent. Since implementation, the solution has led to improved process times, enhanced responsiveness and greater control of operational parameters across the CGD network. Govt to make 5-year policy to promote CNG, piped gas
Jaipur: The state govt will prepare a five-year action plan for infrastructure development and facility expansion to promote domestic piped natural gas (DPNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG). Principal secretary (mines and petroleum) T Ravikanth said Tuesday that as per the budgetary announcement, a target has been set to provide DPNG connections to 1.25 lakh homes and start 89 new CNG stations this year. While preparing the action plan for the next five years, the targets set by the Union petroleum and natural gas ministry will also have to be kept in mind, he said. In a meeting with representatives of 13 CGD (city gas distribution) service providers, he urged them to take measures to ensure compliance with safety standards, especially of vehicles used in transportation of CNG-PNG. State govt has already introduced a CGD policy to promote green energy and ecosysytem.

Desco Infratech gains on bagging Rs 2-cr of order
Desco Infratech advanced 2.20% to Rs 227.90 after the company announced that it had received order worth Rs 2.06 crore from Torrent Gas Chennai and HCG (KCE). According to an exchange filing, the order includes DPNG work for high-rise buildings in Chennai and domestic, industrial, and commercial customer connections, involving service line MDPE laying and installation of PNG connections in high-rise buildings at Hisar, Haryana. The company clarified that neither the promoter, the promoter group, nor any group companies have any financial or other interest in the awarding entities. Additionally, the company has received lowest bidder (L1) confirmation from Maharashtra Natural Gas. As per SEBI regulations and the applicable Master Circular, a separate disclosure will be made upon receipt of the Letter of Intent (LOI) or Letter of Award (LOA) from the concerned authority. Desco Infratech is an infrastructure company focused on engineering, planning, & construction, particularly in city gas distribution, renewable energy, water, and power sectors. On a full-year basis, the company's net profit surged 172.9% to Rs 9.06 crore on a 102.3% rise in revenue to Rs 59.45 crore in FY25 over FY24.
