Second Edition of DXB500 Explores Innovative Strategies and Tools for Media and Communications Professionals
The second edition of the DXB500 Communication Training Programme concluded in Dubai on 8 May, equipping a new cohort of media professionals with advanced skills to elevate institutional communication across the emirate.
Launched by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, and implemented by the Government of Dubai Media Office in collaboration with international partners, the initiative aims to strengthen communication capabilities across public sector entities.
Held over two intensive days, the programme featured practical workshops, expert-led sessions, and real-time simulations. Topics ranged from strategic storytelling and crisis communication to content creation for digital platforms. Highlights included sessions by industry leaders such as Manus Cranny of The National and Dr. Yasar Jarrar of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government.
Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, said the programme reflects the leadership's commitment to developing specialised media talent that can shape narratives and project Dubai's global standing with professionalism and clarity.
The training focused on both theoretical foundations and hands-on experience, offering insights into media analysis, narrative building, and adapting messaging for fast-evolving digital trends. The initiative also emphasized the importance of transparency and audience engagement, especially during crises.
Each edition of DXB500 trains 50 communication leaders, with sessions held twice a year to ensure continuous professional development. By bridging local expertise with global best practices, the programme is fast becoming a cornerstone in Dubai's strategy to build a future-ready media ecosystem.
