Begusarai: Five days after armed criminals abducted

, the HAM(S) party's block president from Sahebpur Kamal in Begusarai, his decomposed body was recovered on Thursday from a field in the Sita Charan Diara area under Munger district.
Rakesh's brother, Vivek Kumar, said locals informed Munger Mufassil police station on Thursday morning about a body partially buried in a field. "The body was in a decomposed state. However, upon reaching the spot, we identified it as my brother's," he said.
According to Vivek, Rakesh had last been seen on Saturday evening when he was abducted at gunpoint from their home in Sandalpur village by Dablu Yadav and his associates.
Dablu Yadav, reportedly operating a criminal gang in the area, has been absconding since the incident.
"We had been living in agony about his safety after the abduction, and to our worst fear, we found out today that his body had been discovered," Vivek added.
Several police teams from Begusarai had been conducting raids to recover Rakesh and arrest Dablu. The administration had announced a Rs 25,000 reward for any information leading to his recovery. Although Dablu remains at large, police have arrested his wife, Sita Devi, who is also the sarpanch of Sandalpur panchayat, and his mother, Rina Devi.
On Wednesday, police obtained court permission to attach Dablu Yadav's property. A reward of Rs 10,000 has also been announced for information leading to the arrest of nine other named accused in the case.
