Two teens arrested on weapons charges in Danville

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were arrested in Danville Wednesday night after police found guns in their possession, one of which was stolen. Around 6:30 p.m., Danville police officers were patrolling in the Holiday Hills area. Police said officers tried to 'make contact' with two people walking at the intersection of Westview and Holiday Drive, but they ran from the officers. After investigating, talking with witnesses, and using a Danville K9, the officers found two guns. One was defaced because the serial number was scratched off, and the other one was stolen, police said. Keys was taken to the Vermilion County Jail. He has been booked on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, being under the age of 21, possession of ammunition without a FOID card, and defacing identification marks on a firearm.
