Severe weather watch in effect for Chicago area
Severe storms are approaching the Chicago area on Monday. A severe weather watch is in effect for Boone, Cook, De Kalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, La Salle, Lake, McHenry, Will, and Winnebago counties until 6 p.m. Damaging winds and flooding are the main concerns as storms move into the impacted areas. According to the National Weather Service, tornadoes are possible along with isolated hail up to quarter-size. The NWS said wind could gust up to 70 miles per hour during the severe weather.
