Boom! Ohio State lands commitment from second defensive lineman in as many days

Boom! For the second time in as many days, Ohio State has landed a verbal pledge from another defensive lineman. One day after landing four-star defensive lineman Damari Simeon, Cameron Brickle II has given his commitment to wear the Scarlet and Gray. A Pennsylvania native, the three-star recruit chose the Buckeyes over Maryland, Florida State, and Penn State. The Nittany Lions were seen as the biggest threat to OSU, but ultimately, Larry Johnson was able to secure the young man's commitment. Brickle has had an interesting high school journey, where he started his high school career at Malvern Prep in Philadelphia. He then transferred to Santa Margarita Catholic in California for his sophomore year before returning to Malvern Prep for his junior year. He'll finish out his high school career at IMG Academy in Florida. Brickle is listed as the No. 62 overall defensive lineman according to 247Sports composite rankings. Brickle becomes the 19th recruit pledged to the 2026 class, which is ranked No. 5 overall according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Boom! Ohio State gets commitment from four-star defensive lineman

110% COMMITTED! GO BUCKS! 🌰 Boom! Ohio State has landed a verbal pledge from coveted defensive lineman Damari Simeon. The commitment came early in the weekend as the Buckeyes beat out Michigan, Penn State, and Texas to land his services. Simeon was somewhat of a late bloomer in terms of recruiting. He did not have a composite ranking as of February when Larry Johnson first offered the young man, but shot up the recruiting boards in recent months. By the time summer rolled around, Simeon had offers from many of the big boys, including Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and more. Simeon is a four-star prospect from New Jersey and is the No. 26-ranked defensive lineman in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings. Simeon is the 18th overall commit in the class and becomes the second defensive lineman in the class, joining Khary Wilder. Ohio State currently sits at No. 5 in the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Elite 2026 four-star DL names Texas in top four schools

Elite 2026 four-star DL names Texas in top four schools Texas already has eight commitments in its 2026 recruiting class. However, they're still looking for help on the defensive line in the cycle. The Longhorns have their eyes set on four-star prospect Damari Simeon, a native of New Jersey. The 6-foot-3, 285-pounder received an offer from the Longhorns last September, and they hosted him in April for an unofficial visit. Simeon has narrowed his choices of schools down to four with Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Texas being the finalists. Simeon comes in as the No. 183 overall recruit and the No. 20 defensive lineman according to On3's industry rankings. He's also ranked as the No. 3 prospect out of New Jersey. In 2024, Simeon played in nine games for St. Augustine Prep. He amassed 28 tackles, six tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one interception. Simeon played in just two games over his first two years in high school and totaled three tackles. This will be an interesting battle with all four schools getting official visits with Simeon between now and the end of next month. Texas is set to host him on June 13. Notre Dame makes top-10 for 2026 New Jersey defensive lineman

Notre Dame makes top-10 for 2026 New Jersey defensive lineman The recruiting picture is starting to become much more clear for 2026 New Jersey defensive lineman Damari Simeon, and Notre Dame football is one of the ten schools that still has a chance. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 275-pound lineman narrowed his list down on Sunday, with the Irish being one of the teams that made the cut. Notre Dame has been developing a relationship with him, and has done enough to be a player for his commitment. Simeon isn't currently ranked, which is extremely odd considering he has offers from multiple major college football powers and his final list is some of the top schools across the country. You have to assume that at some point in the near future that he will be, but many teams like Notre Dame, do its own big boards and clearly he's on it. Getting Simeon on campus during the spring will go a long way in his recruitment, so hopefully head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff are working on getting him on campus.
