Steph Curry's Sister Sends Clear Message About Warriors Star

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is currently sidelined from his team's second round NBA playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but that did not stop a big piece of information from emerging from within his own family. His sister, Sydel Curry-Lee, decided she had enough of one particular narrative about the Warriors guard and one of his old teammates, who happens to be her husband. Advertisement Curry-Lee joined WNBA star Cameron Brink on their podcast "Straight to Cam" to set the record straight to the rest of the world about when she met Curry's former Golden State teammate, Damion Lee. "Everyone thinks that the narrative around our relationship is that Damion Lee bagged his teammate's sister," Curry-Lee said. "No!" Lee, who played for Golden State from 2018-2022, also got on the mic to mimic the narrative he has heard far too often since they got married in 2018. Advertisement "Damion and I were together way before he joined the Warriors," she emphasized. "We got together in 2016." Curry-Lee explained that she met her future husband while he was playing for the Maine Red Claws, the precursor of a current day NBA G League team, the Maine Celtics. Their relationship was already so important that the Boston Celtics agreed to trade then-injured Lee to the Warriors' G League affiliate to do his rehab closer to Curry-Lee. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard went on to win the 2022 NBA Finals alongside Curry against the Celtics. He played 25 games this season for the Phoenix Suns, averaging 3.3 points per game. There may be more present-day Warriors playoff drama to speak of by then, but Curry-Lee made sure that her husband's name would not be a part of it.
