Lenovo teams up with Bumrah and Mythpat to ‘damn the odds'
Lenovo
, the global technology powerhouse, has announced the launch of its latest brand campaign, '
Damn the Odds
,' featuring Indian cricketer
Jasprit Bumrah
and
gaming
creator Mithilesh Patankar, popularly known as
Mythpat
.
With this campaign, Lenovo formally introduces both icons as brand ambassadors, strengthening its connection with India's next generation of creators, gamers and achievers, the press release shared with ETBrandEquity stated.
Built on the insight that pressure is not new to this generation – from academic expectations and side hustles to social image and hyper-competition – 'Damn the Odds' highlights how Gen Z thrives under pressure with the right tools.
With Lenovo's AI-powered innovation across gaming and productivity, the campaign positions technology not just as a support system, but as a performance multiplier.
The campaign films bring this narrative to life:
In the film, Bumrah trains in a futuristic AI-powered lab, analysing every angle of his wrist movement and ball trajectory. With detailed simulations and real-time comparisons, Lenovo AI Now helps him decode his movements and enhance his delivery – proving how smart training and AI insights can translate into game-day results.
From growing up in a simple household in Ahmedabad, Bumrah to become the only bowler to be ranked number one across all cricket formats, rewriting the rulebook with his unique action and discipline. Tech has played a role in his evolution – not just in game prep, but in building resilience.
Similarly, Mythpat's journey from engineering intern to
digital celebrity
wasn't conventional. By combining tech-savviness with comedic storytelling, he built a 16-million-strong YouTube community and became the first Indian to be nominated twice at the
Streamy Awards
. He didn't just pivot careers – he built a genre of his own.
Chandrika Jain, director – marketing, Lenovo India said, 'This campaign brings alive the spirit of '
Damn the Odds
' by celebrating individuals who hustle hard and use smart tools to go further, faster.'
Bumrah added, 'Whether it's cricket or life, preparation is everything. Tech today helps break down the micro-movements, identify areas of improvement, and sharpen instincts. Data and analytics have become a core part of modern cricket. What stood out to me about Lenovo's AI-powered approach is how personal it feels - it's built around how I train, think and perform.'
With 'Damn the Odds,' Lenovo aims to deepen its leadership in India's AI PC and gaming ecosystems, both of which are rapidly expanding among Gen Z users. The campaign also reinforces Lenovo's global legacy in sports and
esports
, with past and ongoing partnerships including FIFA, F1, MotoGP and now, a growing focus on cricket and gaming in India.
