3 face gun, drug charges in Asheville
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – Three people face gun and drug charges after police conducting crime prevention measures made arrests in Asheville Saturday.
The Asheville Police Department said officers approached three individuals around 12:20 a.m. near the 490 block of Haywood Road Saturday and found them to be in possession of drugs and guns. According to reports, one of the guns was reported stolen.
Officers on scene seized two Glock 19s, .73 grams of fentanyl and 79.83 grams of marijuana.
According to reports, Damon Tyrique Smith Jr. was arrested and charged with felony possession of schedule II, simple possession of schedule VI, driving while license revoked and received a citation for stop sign violation. Smith Jr. was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $5,000 bond.
Reports state Samar Arkey Peake was released from the Buncombe County Detention Facility under written promise and faces the charge of carrying a concealed gun.
Daiquan Aijah Ray is charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm and carrying a concealed gun, according to reports. Ray was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $25,000 bond.
