St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner. The feast and traditional death date of St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland, the day has also become a major cultural holiday. People in the United States, and increasingly all over the world celebrate Irish culture, and it's also a big day for foods like corned beef and cabbage. Greater Fall River is no exception when it comes to those celebrations. Places all over the city, and beyond, are gearing up for their annual St. Patrick's Day celebrations. From the aforementioned corned beef and cabbage, to special drinks, breakfast, parties, a murder mystery dinner, and more, there's a whole lot planned for St. Patrick's Day this year. Just don't forget to wear green while you're out there celebrating: Although The Corky Row Club, 602 Third St., hasn't announced their St. Patrick's Day plans as of this writing, they consistently serve up favorites like corned beef and cabbage boiled dinners, and corned beef sandwiches. Their St. Patrick's Day celebrations are for all ages, and they recommend showing up early. For the latest updates on this year's plans, keep up with them on Facebook at The Brewhouse District, 139 S. Main St., Fall River, has Jameson cold brew for $5, now until St. Patrick's Day, available while supplies last. St. Patrick's Day: Celebrations in Mass. for every weekend of March Shorty's Pub, 87 Aetna St., Fall River, is hosting a St. Patrick's Day party on Sunday, March 16, starting at 2 p.m. Doors open at noon. Pink Granite will be performing. The St. James Irish Pub, 91 Purchase St., Fall River, will be hosting the Lions Club's annual Irish breakfast on Sunday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They'll be serving up a traditional feast of bacon, eggs, blood pudding, grilled tomato, and bread. This is a private event; the pub will be closed to the public. Tickets are $25, and some tickets will be available for purchase at the pub. To purchase tickets, call or text 508-642-7067. All proceeds benefit local charities. Fish and chips guide: Lent starts this week. Here are the best places for fish and chips in Greater Fall River. Elks Lodge #118, 4500 N. Main St., Fall River, is hosting a St. Patrick's Day celebration on Saturday, March 15, from noon to 5 p.m. Stop by for corned beef sandwiches, and festive spirit. Sandwiches are $8 each. Troy City Brewing, 16 Anawan St., Fall River, will be hosting their St. Patrick's Celebration for 2025 on the day itself, Monday, March 17. They'll have green beer, as well as their seasonal McCloskey's Irish red. Different brews and spirits will also be available.
