Ballymun teen Sean Hyland to represent Ireland at global dance competition
A 17-year-old from Ballymun is set to represent Ireland at one of the world's biggest dance competitions.
Sean Hyland stole the hearts of the audience at the Ambassador Theatre on Friday night as he won the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Final for 2025.

Dance fans travelled from each corner of the country last week to pack out the Ambassador, as 16 of Ireland's best street dancers battled it out on the night.
There was much expectation on the shoulders of Keelan Reynolds, the 2024 champion, who rocked up to defend his crown in style.

It was neck and neck for the two North Dublin dancers, who pulled out all the stops, but there was nothing to split the pair at first, with the crowd demanding a rematch.
In his debut year in the competition, Hyland's mixed style of hip-hop and locking proved popular with the crowd, garnering him the top prize on the night.

Chatting to following his win, the teenager remarked: 'I've put so much work and energy into this, more than school, lets put it that way, and I'm just excited to represent my country.'
When asked what energy he plans to bring to LA, he added: 'This is exactly what Ireland needed, like that bit of exposure. Keelan did it last year. I'm gonna try to bring something different, not better, but different.'
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity now awaits Hylands when he competes in the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final on Saturday October 11.
