Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left divided after the rumoured launch date 'leaked', with reports the new series details are doing the rounds online BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans are left puzzled over the alleged "leak" of the rumoured launch date, with rumours circulating online about the details of the new series. TV Zone has revealed that this year's Strictly Come Dancing will commence a week later than usual, with the show set to kick off on 20 September. According to a tweet from the outlet: "FYI - this year's Strictly is a week later than recent series, with the show launching on September 20. Hence, no celebrity reveals just yet.." The publication also suggested that the first live show is slated for Saturday, 27 September. After the "leaked" news emerged on X, Strictly fans took to social media to express their views, with some viewers concerned that the final would air too close to Christmas, not giving stars enough time with loved ones. One individual remarked, "Why so late? Does that mean the final will be closer to Christmas then? I just want the celebrity announcements." Another voiced their worry: "Yes, it's less than a week before Christmas, which has me worried that the pros are going to be in a hurry to go and see their families around the world... I hope they were made aware of this when they renewed their contracts," reports the Express. A thrilled fan observed: "Final will be on Saturday December 20 2025, just 5 days before Christmas." This year, the beloved judging panel, consisting of Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, and head judge Shirley Ballas, will return. There will also be some new faces on the dance floor this year, with Julian Cailon and Alexis Warr joining the programme as professional dancers. Julian is an Australian dancer who has previously featured on Dancing with the Stars Down Under, whilst Alexis is an American dancer who won So You Think You Can Dance in 2022.
