Coronation Street actor ‘splits from TV star boyfriend'
Coronation Street actress Katie McGlynn has reportedly split from her boyfriend, The Only Way is Essex star Ricky Rayment. Katie and Ricky announced their relationship publicly in February 2024, with the couple said to have made things official in October 2023 after meeting on a cruise. With Katie based in Manchester, and Ricky in Essex, the couple committed to a long-distance relationship. Last year, they sparked rumours of an engagement after Katie was spotted wearing a ring on her left hand, though a source later revealed that it was not an engagement ring. Now, the couple have reportedly split, with both stars having removed any trace of each other from their social media accounts. 'Katie and Ricky have ended their romance, they're still friends and want to remain civil but in terms of a romantic relationship, it's definitely over,' a source told MailOnline. 'It was difficult at times for them dating even though they lived miles apart from each other but ultimately it just wasn't meant to be.' Metro has reached out to Katie and Ricky's representatives for comment. Coronation Street fans will best know Katie as Sinead Tinker, who first appeared on the cobbles in 2013. In 2019, the character was killed off in a devastating storyline that saw her diagnosed with terminal cancer. More Trending Prior to her appearance on the ITV soap, Katie starred in BBC school-based drama Waterloo Road, as Scout Allen. In recent years, she has also appeared in Hollyoaks as anti-vaxxer Becky Quentin, who's son Henry was left profoundly deaf after contracting meningitis.
