Two charged with prostitution at Plainfield spa

Plainfield — Police arrested two women and seized several hundred dollars of alleged prostitution proceeds following an undercover investigation at a local business. Fang Wang, 38, of Whitestone, N.Y., was charged with prostitution, and Liu Fangfang, 39, also of Whitestone, N.Y., was charged with conspiracy to commit prostitution Monday after officers executed a search warrant at the Wellness Spa on 26 Railroad Ave. During the search, police said detectives and state police, with the assistance of a currency-detection K9, seized $811 and 'items of evidentiary value consistent with sexual activity.' The money, which police classified as prostitution proceeds, was found in 'different secreted areas' in the business, according to the department. Police said detectives launched an investigation into the business this month after the department 'received multiple complaints from concerned citizens regarding allegations of illegal sexual activities.' Police said the investigation included extensive surveillance and undercover operations. According to police, Wang and Fangfang received translation services from a state trooper during processing and post-Miranda interviews. The women were released on $1,000 bonds and are scheduled to appear at Danielson Superior Court on April 7.

A man has been charged in connection with a shooting at a bar in Willimantic on Halloween in 2021. Kaseim Brown, 27, faces charges of criminal possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, according to the Willimantic Police Department. Police said they were able to identify him as a suspect in a shooting that broke out during a physical altercation at a bar on Oct. 31, 2021. Driver arrested for fleeing motor vehicle accident in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — A driver with an active warrant was arrested after fleeing from a motor vehicle accident that injured two occupants in Plainfield. On Friday night around 9:30, Plainfield police officers responded to 135 Black Hill Road for a single-vehicle accident. At the scene, responding officers located tire marks and debris in the southbound lane and initiated a search of the area. The search uncovered an overturned Jeep several yards into the wood line with two occupants. The occupants were a 27-year-old male and a 31-year-old female who were extricated from the vehicle and taken to Backus Hospital for their injuries. Further investigation determined that the Jeep operator, 29-year-old Jacob Clark, had lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and overturn several times before halting near the woods. Clark fled the scene on foot before officials arrived and was apprehended the following day with the help of state troopers. For his role in the crash, Clark was charged with failure to maintain proper lane, operating under suspension, reckless endangerment, and evading responsibility. Clark also had an active warrant for a previous charge involving criminal mischief in the third degree and larceny in the fifth degree. After being released on bond, Clark is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court on March 3. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
