Channel Nine star stuns his colleagues with VERY risky remarks about trans people and a sexual massage
Footy icon turned Channel Nine star Andrew Johns has left his co-hosts stunned with a bizarre and wild outburst about trans people and a sexual encounter during a massage. Johns, 51, made the remarks on Wednesday's edition of the Freddy and the Eighth show, with fellow Nine stars Brad Fittler and Danika Mason joking about the show getting cancelled as a result of what he said. The panel - which featured Wests Tigers star Api Koroisau as their special guest - were discussing footage of Johns drinking beer at a game in 2001, the year he led Newcastle to their second premiership. 'Can you imagine if that happened today?' Mason asked, with Koroisau replying, 'You can't even have a beer when you're not at the footy.' Johns then went off on his wild tangent as he fondly remembered the old days of footy. 'When men were men, and sometimes men were women. Oh, that's these days,' he said. The former Newcastle Knights star's outburst came as the panel were talking about having a beer at the footy back in the 'old days' The entire panel laughed before Johns added, 'Hello to that lady in Samoa I got a massage off last year,' while waving his hand. 'Well, we lasted 201 episodes,' Fittler joked. 'It was great while it lasted,' Mason said. When Johns said 'deep massage', Mason asked him to explain 'the difference between a deep one and a light one'. 'Starts with happy and ends with ending,' he replied, then added, 'It starts with Api,' in a reference to Koroisau. By that point the entire panel were in fits of laughter, with Koroisau completely losing it. 'That'll all get cut out,' Fittler said. 'No, no, no - that's staying in,' Mason replied. When Fittler joked that Johns' remarks would have to be cut from the show, Mason (pictured at the Logies) replied, 'No, no, no - that's staying in' Earlier in the program, the panel were discussing who did and didn't behave themselves at the Logies, which Mason attended. She said Nine sports host James Bracey 'was in good form', after which Johns said Bracey used to be 'a geek' but has now changed after hanging around with former footy stars like himself and Fittler. 'You've rubbed off on him. He's been hanging around you too much,' Mason said. 'Since the Golden Slipper [horse race],' Johns replied. 'Yes, you got him good,' Mason laughed. Johns made headlines earlier this year when he refused to commentate for 20 minutes of an NRL match in a protest against the actions of the video ref team in the bunker. When Wests star Fonua Pole was sin-binned for a high tackle, Johns put the microphone down and barely spoke for the rest of the match.

Danika Mason was getting her sweat on as she took a run on Tuesday. The Channel Nine presenter stripped down into skin-tight activewear as she enjoyed a day out at Sydney 's Centennial Park. The 34-year-old paired a grey top with black leggings and sneakers, her toned midriff on display. She appeared to go makeup-free for the outing, pulling her brunette locks back in a ponytail. Danika ran with her headphones in, perhaps listening to music, before taking a phone call by her car. A sheen of sweat over her skin suggested she exerted some energy during the high-octane run. Danika and her boyfriend Liam Knight have been living apart from each other for the past five months. They could now be set to reside on opposite sides of the world for another year. Knight, who signed a deal to join Super League club Hull FC back in March, has now been rewarded for his excellent form at the start of the 2025 season with a 12-month contract extension. While it is exciting news for Knight, who moved to play for the British outfit ahead of the 2025 season, it means the couple will have to continue their long-distance relationship, with Mason based 17,000km away in Australia. Knight, who hails from Alice Springs, was released by the Canterbury Bulldogs last year, after playing just two matches for the club during the 2024 season. But since his arrival at Hull FC, Knight has impressed, making 10 appearances for the club, and had initially planned to spend around seven months in the United Kingdom. The 30-year-old, who has grown to become a fan favourite at the Yorkshire-based outfit, has now spoken of his delight at putting pen to paper on the new deal. 'I'm stoked to be staying here – I really love this club and I'm really excited to see what we can keep building over the next 12 months,' he told the club's website. 'I've really fallen in love with the fans and the atmosphere, both home and away – they're so dedicated. I love the playing group we have here and the coaching staff too – it's a fun place to come to work and that's being reflected in our performances.' Mason and Knight went public with their relationship back in 2024. The footy star took to social media to publish a loved-up snap of the couple embracing, while writing: 'My life's good.' The pair have since jetted around the world together, with Mason flying to London to spend some time with her beau in October, before also travelling to Rome and Paris. Mason began dating the footy star after calling off her marriage to Todd Liubinskas. The Wide World of Sports presenter, who recently replaced Alex Cullen on Nine's Today Show, was due to tie the knot in October of last year, but cancelled the ceremony, which was due to be held at the Greystone Estate in NSW's Hunter Valley.

To mark Bring Your Dog to Work Day, the Today show sports reporter, 34, brought her beloved pet into work to perform some tricks - but things didn't quite go according to plan. Danika, dressed in a chic electric blue suit, attempted to deliver her sports bulletin while encouraging Charlie to sit politely with the help of a treat. But her on-air report quickly descended into chaos when Charlie began barking loudly, sparking another studio pup named Oscar to join in. Moments later, Charlie bolted across the set, running laps around the studio and running up to the desk of surprised co-hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo, leaving Danika flustered. Woods entered the ocean in his birthday suit - a brave feat in the middle of winter - and then accidently revealed his manhood to viewers in shocking scenes. Stefanovic, co-host Sarah Abo and Danika Mason - who was at Bondi Beach with Woods - couldn't believe what unfolded. 'No! Don't show it!,' Abo pleaded, as Woods lapped up his moment. Mason then became the star of the show with a one-liner for the ages, labelling it 'the smallest sporting event I've seen.' 'I hope I get a Logie for this,' she added. Woods later appeared on Today again, thankfully fully clothed. 'I'm feeling good, it was good fun,' the former NSW Blues prop said.
