Former Danville Superintendent's settlement agreement up for a vote
DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Danville School Board may discuss a settlement agreement with former Superintendent Alicia Geddis at this week's meeting.
A motion to consider the settlement agreement is on the agenda for the board's Wednesday meeting. In February, WCIA reported that Geddis was placed on paid administrative leave, and that John Hart, who was the Assistant Superintendent at the time, would assume the role of interim superintendent.

WCIA also reported that the school board passed an unspecified settlement with Geddis that would see both parties part ways.
After Geddis was placed on leave, WCIA talked to Board Counsel Stephanie Jones. Jones said the teacher retirement system requires the district to review the agreement and approve it before it's executed. This applies when the settlement falls within the employee's retirement age.
The school board will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday in a closed session. They are expected to begin the open meeting at 6:30 p.m. It'll take place at the Dr. David L. Fields Administrative Service Center.
